I work with women every day who are trying to lose weight, improve their energy, and take control of their health. Naturally, GLP-1 medications have become a hot topic—and with so many brands out there, it can feel overwhelming to choose the right one.

Lately, two names keep coming up: Eden and Remedy Meds. A few of my clients use Eden. It’s everywhere right now… like their commercials we've all been seeing on our favorite streaming TV apps.

A few use Remedy Meds. And plenty are trying to decide which is the better fit.

This review breaks down both services from the lens of what matters most to my community: affordability, ease of use, access to support, and whether the experience feels sustainable.

What Eden and Remedy Meds Have in Common

Let’s start with what you can expect from either option:

  • Both offer GLP-1 and GLP-1 + GIP treatments.
  • Both carry brand names like Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound™.
  • They use a telehealth model with no insurance required.
  • Fast shipping, personalized plans, and licensed U.S. providers.

You’re in good hands with either, and below, I am sharing each brand's new member offer:

Check out Eden's new & exciting offer

Check out Remedy Meds' low offer

What Eden Offers

Eden provides personalized, doctor-led GLP-1 treatment plans starting at $196/month (on a 12-month plan). That price includes medication, provider support, and access to their community platform – pretty good if you ask me.

Note: read more about Eden and what they do.

A few highlights:

  • Transparent pricing: $96 first month, then $196/month if paid annually (or through monthly plans)
  • Brand-name options: Eden offers Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, and Zepbound™
  • No membership fees or hidden costs
  • Free expedited shipping
  • Add-on services: Eden also offers other telehealth options for things like hormone support, longevity, energy, and mood

What Remedy Meds Offers

Remedy Meds specializes in GLP-1 treatments, offering both GLP-1 and GLP-1 + GIP medications. Their pricing is the same as Willow, another GLP-1 provider in which I compared Willow to Remedy Meds.

Here is Remedy Meds' pricing:

  • GLP-1: $299/month
  • GLP-1 + GIP: $399/month

Other perks:

  • $120 off your first month with our link (a big help if you’re just getting started)
  • No membership fee
  • Fast shipping
  • Brand-name meds also available (subject to approval)

Remedy Meds keeps things simple. There’s no upselling. Just a short quiz, a provider review, and fast shipping if you’re approved.

Real Feedback From My Clients

I’ve had clients go with both Eden and Remedy Meds—and they’ve shared helpful feedback that might make your decision easier. Each brand has its strengths, and depending on what matters most to you (simplicity, support, cost, or access to other services), one might be a better fit.

Here’s what I hear most from clients who choose Eden:

  • Bundled services in one place – Many appreciate that Eden offers more than just GLP-1s. If you’re also curious about longevity support, hormones, hair loss, or mood-balancing meds, Eden makes it easy to manage everything under one account.
  • Affordable pricing – At $196/month (on the 12-month plan), Eden is one of the lowest-cost options, with no membership fees or surprise charges.
  • Community and coaching – A few of my clients felt more motivated knowing they had an active support group and ongoing coaching built in.
  • Expedited delivery & support – They liked that shipping was fast, support was responsive, and everything felt “put together” from the start.

And here’s what clients say they like about Remedy Meds:

  • Easy, no-nonsense process – The onboarding is fast. Clients tell me the quiz is short, approval comes quickly, and meds ship in just a few days.
  • Transparent pricing with brand-name options – Remedy offers the same pricing as Willow ($299 for GLP-1, $399 for GLP-1 + GIP), but also gives you access to brand names like Wegovy and Zepbound if you're eligible.
  • Big first-month discount – My clients love the $120 off their first month. It’s a nice bonus when you're just getting started and testing it out.
  • Focus on GLP-1s only – Some clients actually prefer that Remedy stays in their lane. They do GLP-1s and they do them well—without trying to upsell too many other things.

For My Midlife Clients

If you’re in perimenopause or menopause, it’s important to choose a provider who understands that your weight struggles might be tied to hormones, not just habits.

Both Eden and Remedy Meds provide GLP-1 access for women in midlife, but if you’re looking for a provider that specializes in weight loss for menopause, I always recommend checking out Join Josie. You can also see my full list of top GLP-1 providers for women in midlife.

The Bottom Line: Eden or Remedy Meds?

Both Eden and Remedy Meds are strong choices.

  • Choose Eden if you want more than just weight loss meds. If you’re thinking ahead about hormone support, energy, and longevity, they offer a broader ecosystem of care.
  • Choose Remedy Meds if you want a straightforward, fast, and affordable GLP-1 prescription experience—and you’d like $120 off your first month.

Either way, you’re not making a bad choice. It just depends on what else you want alongside your medication.

Over the last few months, I’ve had more and more clients asking about GLP-1 medications — and two brands that keep coming up are Willow and Remedy Meds.

On paper, these two look very similar. They offer the same types of medications, don’t require insurance, and have nearly identical pricing. But once we dig in a little, there are a few important differences that can help you decide which one fits your goals better.

Here’s how I guide my clients when they’re trying to choose between the two.

What They Have in Common

Let’s start with the basics.

Both Willow and Remedy Meds offer:

  • GLP-1 medications for $299/month
  • GLP-1 + GIP combo medications for $399/month
  • Fast approval process (usually within 1–2 days)
  • At-home delivery and no insurance required
  • Online medical intake forms reviewed by licensed providers

So if you’re looking for an accessible, telehealth-based GLP-1 provider, either brand can get you started quickly.

But there are a few key differences worth noting.

Willow: Sleek, Stylish, and Built for Simplicity

Willow has done a great job making GLP-1 medications feel approachable and modern. Their branding is clean, their interface is easy to use, and they’re very transparent about offering GLP-1s for cosmetic weight loss — meaning you don’t have to meet a strict BMI requirement to qualify.

They offer both injection and spray options, and the approval process is fast. But they don’t offer brand-name medications, and they don’t offer any kind of discount for your first month.

For many of my clients, Willow feels like a low-stress, low-effort way to try GLP-1s without the usual barriers. But you're paying full price out of the gate, with no perks or added flexibility.

Best for: Women who want something modern, simple, and friction-free — especially if they’re newer to GLP-1s and want a straightforward experience.

Start Willow's Intake Form

Remedy Meds: More Value, Same Price

Remedy Meds offers the exact same monthly pricing as Willow — but they give you a pretty valuable discount 🙂

First, they now offer brand-name medications for patients who qualify. That’s a big deal if you're looking for a more established option beyond compounded meds.

Second, they offer $120 off your first month when you go through a special link — which makes a big difference if you're trying to see how your body responds before committing long-term.

The experience isn’t quite as “aesthetic” as Willow, but I’ve found Remedy to be reliable, responsive, and professional — especially if you want the option to message with a provider or ask questions as you go.

Note: Take a look at my article on what to expect with Remedy Meds (review + breakdown)

Best for: Anyone who values flexibility, wants brand-name options, or just prefers to save money up front.

So, Which One Do I Recommend?

Honestly? They’re both great — but if you’re asking me which gives you more for your money, it’s Remedy Meds.

You’re paying the same monthly price, but you get:

  • A $120 discount right away
  • Access to brand-name options
  • More flexibility if you want extra support

Willow is still a solid choice, especially if you love a modern interface and want to start something without overthinking it. But for the same cost, Remedy just gives you more options.

A Note for My Midlife Clients

If you're in perimenopause or menopause and struggling with stubborn weight gain, you're not alone — and you're not imagining it. I work with women every day who feel like nothing works anymore, even when they're eating well and moving regularly.

Both Willow and Remedy Meds offer GLP-1 options that can help support weight loss during this stage of life, but here’s what I always say:

If you’re in midlife, you deserve more than just fast shipping and a checkout page. You deserve a provider that actually understands your hormones and your goals.

That’s why I usually recommend Join Josie for my midlife clients. Their team works specifically with women in menopause, and they take the time to address what’s going on in your body — not just give you a prescription. Plus, they offer HRT now, so they can serve more based on your symptoms.

If you still want to explore Willow or Remedy Meds, just make sure you go in with a plan, and don’t be afraid to advocate for the kind of care you need.

Note: Take a peak at my recommended menopause GLP-1 providers to compare options, you'll find Willow and Remedy Meds on that list, as well as Josie and some others.

Willow vs Mochi – Which To Choose for a GLP-1? https://dtcwellnesshub.com/willow-vs-mochi/ https://dtcwellnesshub.com/willow-vs-mochi/#respond Wed, 11 Jun 2025 19:22:15 +0000 https://dtcwellnesshub.com/?p=17916 My clients keep asking about Willow and Mochi for GLP-1s. Here’s how I help them choose based on goals, cost, and support.

The post Willow vs Mochi – Which To Choose for a GLP-1? appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>
Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions from my nutrition clients about GLP-1 medications. And two names that keep coming up over and over again? Willow and Mochi.

Both are direct-to-consumer brands offering weight loss medications through telehealth. They’re easy to access, don’t require insurance, and ship straight to your door. But they’re also very different — in both how they operate and who they’re best for.

If you’re curious about which one is right for you, here’s exactly what I tell my clients when they bring up Willow or Mochi in our sessions.

What to Know About GLP-1s from Online Brands

GLP-1 medications are used to support weight loss by regulating appetite and helping your body respond better to insulin. If you’ve heard of brand names like Wegovy® or Zepbound™, you’re already familiar with this category.

Online brands like Willow and Mochi offer compounded versions of these medications (although I won’t get too deep into the formulation here). What matters most is that you’ll go through an online medical intake, get evaluated by a provider, and—if approved—you’ll receive your medication monthly.

One important thing to keep in mind:

These brands operate in a changing regulatory space. Some providers have been involved in legal actions related to how they prescribe or compound medications. It doesn’t mean they’re not legit—it just means you should stay informed and choose carefully.

Willow: A Polished, Fast-Access Option for Cosmetic Weight Loss

Willow has built its name around offering GLP-1 medications for cosmetic weight loss—meaning, you don’t need a high BMI or underlying health condition to be considered.

For many of my clients, this is a huge plus. They’re not looking to lose 50 pounds. They just want to feel more comfortable in their body, fit back into clothes they love, or manage menopause weight gain that won’t budge with diet alone. Willow makes that process accessible.

What to know:

  • $299/month for GLP-1
  • $399/month for GLP-1 + GIP
  • No membership fees
  • You can choose injections or oral spray
  • Fast approval process (1–2 days for most clients)
  • Clean, intuitive user experience

Willow also has a section on their site for menopausal women, which I was really glad to see. But if you're looking for support that goes deeper than just the medication, I still recommend Join Josie. Josie is built specifically for women in menopause and offers a more personalized, long-term support system that my clients love.

Best for: Anyone looking for a sleek, low-friction way to start a GLP-1 program, especially if they fall into the cosmetic weight loss category.

Start the Willow intake form

Mochi: Budget-Friendly, Minimal, and Straight to the Point

Mochi has a very different feel. Their main appeal? Affordability.

They offer GLP-1 for just $99/month and GLP-1 + GIP for $199/month — but those prices don’t include the required $79/month membership fee. That brings the real total closer to $178–$278/month, depending on your plan.

What I’ve noticed with Mochi is that it’s less about experience and more about price. There’s no flashy branding or concierge support—it’s simple, direct, and focused on access.

What to know:

  • $99/month for GLP-1
  • $199/month for GLP-1 + GIP
  • Plus $79/month membership
  • Approval isn’t guaranteed—some clients get refunds after applying
  • Interface is bare-bones, and support is minimal

That said, for clients who are extremely price-sensitive and okay with fewer frills, Mochi has worked well. It’s not my top pick for anyone looking for ongoing support or a sense of partnership—but if cost is the main factor, it’s one of the most affordable GLP-1 options available right now.

Best for: Those who want the lowest price possible and don’t mind a self-managed experience.

Willow vs Mochi: At-a-Glance Comparison

Menopause SupportYes — marketed, but Join Josie is preferredNone
Support ModelSleek, self-guided platformMinimal provider interaction
Best ForWomen with lower BMI, quick-start goals, convenienceLowest-price shoppers, no need for extra support

So, Which One Do I Recommend?

Honestly? Both brands can be a good fit, depending on what matters most to you.

  • If you're looking for the lowest cost and you're okay with a more DIY experience — Mochi could work.
  • If you want something cleaner, faster, and designed for women (especially for cosmetic or lifestyle weight loss) — Willow is the better choice.
  • And if you’re still not sure, I put together a resource that compares all the major GLP-1 providers I trust.

For My Midlife Clients

If you’re in menopause and want support tailored to that stage of life, I strongly recommend checking out Join Josie instead. Not only do they offer GLP-1, they make it personalized and they offer HRT, which is also personalized based on your symptoms. My clients have all had a great experience thus far with Josie.

Take This Home With You

At the end of the day, it’s not about picking the “best” brand — it’s about choosing the right fit for you.

You deserve to feel good in your body. You deserve options. And if a GLP-1 can help support your goals, I want you to feel empowered and informed to make the best decision possible.

If you have questions, keep asking. That’s how you find what works.

Many of my clients ask, “Should I follow a special diet?” The truth is, you don’t need to overcomplicate it. I’ll walk you through what I recommend... simple, high-protein meals that actually help the medication work better.

The post What Should I Eat While Taking a GLP-1? A Dietitian Explains appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>
Hi, I’m Courtney D’Angelo, a registered dietitian, and this is a question I get all the time from my clients: “What should I be eating now that I’m on a GLP-1?”

If that’s you, you’re not alone. Many women I work with start a compounded GLP-1 program and then suddenly lose their appetite, feel weird around food, or aren’t sure how to eat in a way that supports their goals.

Let’s break this down together.

No rules, no restrictions.

Just a smart, realistic way to nourish your body while letting the medication do its job.

There’s No Such Thing as a “GLP-1 Diet”

First, let’s clear this up: you don’t need to follow a special meal plan because you’re taking a GLP-1.

These medications don’t come with a built-in diet. But that doesn’t mean food doesn’t matter—in fact, what you eat can make a huge difference in how you feel and how your body responds.

We’re not aiming for perfection. We’re aiming for progress.

What To Eat While Taking a GLP-1

My #1 Focus: Protein (Especially Now)

If you only remember one thing from this article, let it be this: protein matters more now than ever.

Compounded GLP-1s reduce your appetite, and when you’re eating less overall, you need to make sure what you do eat supports your metabolism, energy, and strength. That’s where protein comes in.

Here’s a simple goal: Aim for 25–30g of protein at each meal.

Need ideas?

  • Breakfast: eggs with Greek yogurt and berries
  • Lunch: grilled chicken over greens with quinoa and a vinaigrette
  • Dinner: turkey burger with roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli
  • Snack: protein shake, cottage cheese with fruit, or tuna and crackers

Even small protein boosts throughout the day can add up!

Eat on a Rhythm—Not Just When You're Hungry

This one trips people up: GLP-1s blunt your appetite, so you might go hours without feeling hungry. But just because you can skip meals doesn’t mean you should.

Your body still needs nutrients, especially protein and fiber, to function well and preserve lean muscle.

Try setting some gentle eating anchors during the day:

  • A balanced breakfast or protein shake in the morning
  • A nourishing lunch with protein and veggies
  • A light dinner with fiber and healthy fats

Think of it as fueling your body, not just responding to hunger.

Struggling With Nausea or Low Appetite?

You’re not alone there. Some of my clients tell me they want to eat well, but the nausea (especially early on) makes it tough.

Here are some gentle food ideas that won’t feel overwhelming:

  • Smoothies with protein powder, banana, and almond milk
  • Clear protein drinks (like the ones from Clean Simple Eats)
  • Bone broth with soft veggies and shredded chicken
  • Mashed sweet potato with cottage cheese

The goal isn’t to eat a full plate every time. Small, nutrient-dense bites count too.

Let’s Talk About the Mental Side

I’ve had women tell me they feel better—fewer cravings, more balanced energy—but they’re frustrated because the scale isn’t moving.

Here’s what I tell them:

If your habits are improving, that’s progress. If you’re building strength, that’s progress. If you’re more consistent with meals and movement, that’s huge progress.

Sometimes, fat loss and muscle gain cancel each other out on the scale—but your body composition is changing, and that matters more.

What to Keep In Mind (and What to Let Go Of)

Keep:

  • Protein with every meal
  • Fiber from fruits, veggies, and whole grains
  • Hydration (yes, water still matters!)

Let go of:

  • Guilt for not eating “enough”
  • Fear of eating “too much”
  • Trying to follow a rigid plan

Your body is adjusting. Give yourself space to figure it out.

Take This Home

There’s no one-size-fits-all plan when it comes to GLP-1s and eating. But I hope this helped you feel a little more grounded.

Nourish your body with simple, high-protein meals. Be kind to yourself when things feel confusing. And remember—you don’t have to do this alone.

If you want help with high-protein, macro-friendly recipes, and strength training to build your muscle, check out the Simply Strong App. It’s what I personally use and recommend to all my clients.

In this article, I break it all down... how each provider works, what they cost, and who I think each one is best for.

The post HealthRx vs Remedy Meds: Which To Choose? appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

I’ve had a flood of questions lately from my community asking about HealthRx and Remedy Meds. These are two of the most talked-about platforms right now for accessing compounded GLP-1 medications online, and for good reason: they’re both reputable, easy to use, and fast.

But if you’re trying to figure out which one is right for you, there are a few important differences to keep in mind.

Quick Comparison of HealthRx vs Remedy Meds

The Sign-Up Process: I Tried Both

Both HealthRx and Remedy Meds use the exact same medical intake form. It takes just a few minutes to complete and asks all the right questions: health history, symptoms, medications, side effects, and more.

I went through the quiz twice on HealthRx. The first time, I entered a BMI over 30 and got approved. The second time, I entered a BMI of 27 with no additional conditions and was denied. I took this as a good sign that HealthRx screens responsibly.

Remedy Meds follows the same flow. I was approved quickly and had support available via text. Their refund came through faster than HealthRx when I tested it.

What Stood Out About Remedy Meds

Remedy Meds offers:

  • $120 off your first month when using my unique link (only $75 off without it)
  • Lightning-fast responses from a support team that texts back quickly
  • A simple, no-pressure onboarding experience
  • Transparent pricing with no surprises

They also offer the same 10% weight loss guarantee as HealthRx. If you don’t lose at least 10% of your body weight in four months, you may qualify for a refund (as long as you stick to the program).

What Stood Out About HealthRx

HealthRx has a clean interface and a very detailed intake process. They ask about side effects, resting heart rate, and more… which shows they take care in prescribing safely.

Their communication is professional, and their platform is easy to navigate. Shipping is fast, usually within 48 hours after final approval (not pre-approval).

But there are no current discounts offered, and the price stays at $249.99/month.

Note: Take a hard look at my review of HealthRx and see how I took their quiz twice. Did it pass the legit-brands check?

Support & Follow-Up: Who’s More Responsive?

Both brands are solid, but Remedy Meds seems to win in the communication department. You can text their support team and typically get a fast, friendly response.

HealthRx is reliable, but a little more hands-off. They provide access to your care team, but it’s not quite as quick or personal.

My Clients’ Experiences

From what my clients have told me:

  • HealthRx: “The platform was smooth. I liked how fast everything shipped. Very modern website, user friendly, etc. The whole process was really easy.”
  • Remedy Meds: “It felt like someone was there for me the whole way. They actually responded fast and helped me understand my doses.”

Both brands have delivered results when paired with a high-protein diet and strength training, which is always my approach.

A Note for Midlife Women

If you’re in perimenopause or menopause and struggling with weight loss, both of these services may help, but they’re not personalized for hormonal changes.

That’s why I recommend checking out my favorite GLP-1 providers for menopause. My top choice is Join Josie if you're looking for something tailored specifically for midlife women.

Real Value: Let’s Talk Pricing

  • HealthRx: $249.99/month, no discounts
  • Remedy Meds: $299/month, but with $120 off your first month using my unique link

That brings Remedy Meds down to $179 for month one, which is one of the best prices I’ve seen for a reliable provider.

Let's Take This Home

Both HealthRx and Remedy Meds are legit. They offer access to the same type of medication, and their intake forms show they care about doing things safely.

But for faster service, better communication, and the best pricing? Remedy Meds gets my vote.

No matter which provider you go with, remember: the medication is a tool. To get the most out of it, make sure you’re fueling with high-protein meals and adding strength training into your weekly routine.

I’ve seen more women turn to GLP-1 microdosing as a way to support energy, aging, and overall wellness. Here’s what’s really happening behind the scenes.

The post Microdosing GLP-1s for Longevity: Can You Age Better on a Lower Dose? appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>
Over the past few months, I’ve had more women come to me with a question I never used to hear: “Can GLP-1s help me stay healthy as I age… even if I don’t need to lose a lot of weight?”

That question is at the heart of a much bigger conversation happening right now.

Yes, GLP-1 medications (like semaglutide or tirzepatide) are widely known for weight loss. But a growing number of women are now microdosing these medications—not for major fat loss, but to support things like metabolic balance, inflammation, and healthy aging.

Let’s talk about what that means, and why more women are exploring it.

What “Longevity” Really Means

Longevity isn't just about living longer. It's about living better:

  • Having energy
  • Staying mentally sharp
  • Reducing disease risk
  • Feeling good in your body

For women in midlife, that means addressing hormone shifts, blood sugar, appetite, and metabolism. The things that used to feel easy suddenly get harder. And that’s where microdosing comes in.

What Is Microdosing GLP-1?

Microdosing means taking a lower-than-standard dose of a GLP-1 medication. It’s not about dropping 30 pounds in 3 months. It’s about:

  • Gentle appetite regulation
  • Lowering inflammation
  • Stabilizing blood sugar
  • Supporting long-term health markers

It’s not for everyone, but it’s catching on with women who want a slower, smarter path—without aggressive side effects.

Why More Women Are Exploring Microdosing for Longevity

Here’s what we know so far (and yes, studies are still emerging):

  • Reduces inflammation and oxidative stress
  • Supports cardiovascular health
  • Helps regulate insulin and blood sugar
  • May protect brain health (early research)
  • Improves energy by supporting mitochondria

These are the core issues many of my clients want to address in their 40s, 50s, and beyond—whether or not they need to lose weight.

Real Conversations with Real Women

Let me share a few client scenarios (with names changed):

  • Lisa, 47 had lost 20 pounds already, but wanted to maintain her progress and keep her energy up. She hated the side effects of higher doses, so she switched to a longevity microdose.
  • Michelle, 52 has a family history of heart disease and wanted a proactive plan to improve her numbers. She didn’t meet the usual criteria for GLP-1s, but microdosing gave her a path forward.
  • Sandra, 44 struggled with cravings during perimenopause. Microdosing helped her feel more balanced without making her feel “medicated.”

These stories are becoming more common. Not everyone wants (or needs) the most aggressive plan on the market.

Who Qualifies for Microdosing GLP-1?

Unlike some traditional weight loss programs, microdosing isn’t based strictly on BMI. That’s a big deal.

You may qualify if:

  • You’re weight stable and want to maintain your results
  • You’re dealing with blood sugar swings, cravings, or appetite changes
  • You’re focused on preventative health, not just fat loss
  • You’re sensitive to side effects from full-dose programs
  • You’re in midlife and want support for metabolic shifts, without major dose escalations

This opens up access for more people who want help staying well—not just getting lean.

What to Know Before You Start

If you're curious about microdosing, here are a few tips I give my clients:

  • Talk to a provider who understands longevity-based care, not just weight loss
  • Track more than your weight: energy, sleep, digestion, mood
  • Start low and go slow: it’s a marathon, not a sprint

Microdosing is about working with your body, not forcing it to change overnight.

Take This Home With You

As a dietitian, I’m excited to see conversations around GLP-1s evolve. There’s more to health than a number on the scale.

If you’re thinking about microdosing for longevity, take your time, do your research, and talk to a qualified provider.

P.S. One provider I like for this is EllieMD’s GLP-1 longevity microdosing program. They offer lower-dose GLP-1s (with or without GIP) plus B12, and they actually work with you to personalize the dose. Worth checking out if this route feels aligned with your goals.

Over the last few months, more and more women in my community have been asking about something new: microdosing GLP-1s.

Some have tried traditional GLP-1 medications and didn’t like how they felt. Others are just starting their journey and want a more balanced, less intense approach to managing their weight and metabolism. And for many, it’s not about weight loss alone — it’s about energy, longevity, and staying well.

Let’s break down what microdosing GLP-1 actually means, why it’s becoming a real conversation, and whether it might be the right path for you.

What Is Microdosing a GLP-1, Really?

Microdosing a GLP-1 simply means starting with a smaller dose than what’s typically used in most weight loss programs.

Instead of rapidly increasing the dose each month, some providers take a slower, more gradual approach. That might mean starting with one-fourth or one-half the usual starting dose and staying there longer — or not titrating up at all if the lower dose feels good and works well.

This approach is always guided by a medical provider, and it’s not about doing less — it’s about doing what works better for you.

For some women, this means:

  • Fewer side effects
  • More stable energy
  • A greater sense of control

And for others, it simply means honoring a slower journey that feels more in sync with their body.

Why Some Women Want a Gentler Start

Here’s what I’ve been hearing directly from women in my practice:

“I don’t want to feel like I’m on a rollercoaster. I want to ease into this.”

“My body is sensitive to most medications, and I’m scared of starting too high.”

“I’m not trying to lose 30 pounds fast. I just want to feel better and stop thinking about food all the time.”

This is where microdosing makes sense. It’s not for everyone, but it’s a great option for:

  • Women in perimenopause or menopause
  • Those prone to nausea or fatigue with higher doses
  • Anyone looking to improve metabolic health or reduce cravings without rapid weight loss (example: longevity)

Microdosing vs. Traditional Dosing: A Quick Comparison

What My Clients Are Saying

Some of the women who switched to microdosing told me:

“It felt more doable. I wasn’t scared of side effects.”

“I just wanted help controlling cravings, not a crash diet.”

“I liked that I could listen to my body instead of rushing the process.”

Not everyone needs this — but for those who do, the shift can be powerful.

Who Microdosing Might Be a Good Fit For

If any of these sound like you, microdosing might be worth exploring (under medical care):

  • You’re sensitive to medications and want fewer side effects
  • You’ve reached your goal weight and want to maintain
  • You’re more focused on energy, inflammation, and healthy aging than the scale
  • You’ve experienced burnout or GI symptoms on higher doses
  • You’re working on muscle-building and don’t want to lose lean mass

Who Qualifies for Microdosing GLP-1?

One of the most exciting things about microdosing GLP-1s? You don’t need to meet the traditional weight loss criteria to be considered.

Most of the women I work with are surprised to learn that you don’t need a high BMI to qualify. Microdosing isn’t just about weight loss — it’s about supporting metabolic health, improving appetite control, and reducing inflammation. That means:

  • If your weight has plateaued, but you're still struggling with energy, cravings, or body composition…
  • If you're sensitive to side effects at higher doses…
  • Or if you're looking for a gentler, more sustainable path to wellness… like improving your longevity, for example

Then you may be a great candidate for microdosing.

📌 Pro tip: Most microdosing programs skip the one-size-fits-all checklist. You’ll answer a few health questions and work with a provider to see if it’s a good fit for your body and goals.

What to Ask Yourself First

Before you consider switching to or starting with a microdose, ask:

  • What is my main goal right now — fat loss, maintenance, or metabolic wellness?
  • Have I addressed nutrition and movement first (strength training + focusing on a high protein diet)?
  • Am I being consistent with dosing, sleep, stress, and hydration?
  • Am I feeling side effects that don’t seem worth it?

Want to Explore It Further?

There’s growing interest in this space, and providers like EllieMD are offering microdosing protocols designed to support longevity and wellness, not just fast weight loss.

You can check out their two options:

GLP-1 + B12 Longevity Microdose

GLP-1/GIP + B12 Longevity Microdose

Take This Home

You don’t have to go hard to make progress. In fact, many women I work with have seen amazing results by slowing things down.

Microdosing is not a shortcut — it’s just a different way to care for your body.

If you’ve been struggling with traditional dosing or just want a smarter, gentler start, talk to your provider. You may be surprised by how much a lower dose can still do.

And if you’re curious, I recommend checking out EllieMD’s starter microdose option, which is very affordable. All you need to do to get started is create a free account and start their intake form to see if it could be a good fit for you.

Exploring Tuyo Health’s Unique Spanish-Speaking Weight Loss Program https://dtcwellnesshub.com/exploring-tuyo-healths-unique-spanish-speaking-weight-loss-program/ https://dtcwellnesshub.com/exploring-tuyo-healths-unique-spanish-speaking-weight-loss-program/#respond Wed, 07 May 2025 10:22:29 +0000 https://dtcwellnesshub.com/?p=17780 ¡Hola! Tuyo Health just launched a Spanish-speaking version of their GLP-1 weight loss program... and it’s already catching attention. I took a closer look to see what makes it special, how the process works, and why it could be a huge deal for Spanish-speaking communities seeking better access to weight loss care.

The post Exploring Tuyo Health’s Unique Spanish-Speaking Weight Loss Program appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>
As a dietitian, I work with all kinds of people trying to lose weight and build healthier habits. One thing that’s always stood out to me? How few weight loss programs are built for people who speak Spanish first. ¡Por fin!

Most of the platforms out there—especially those offering GLP-1 medications—are English-only, with little effort made to truly connect with Spanish-speaking communities.

That’s why I found Tuyo Health so refreshing.

They’ve created a program that doesn’t just offer translation—it offers care, support, and resources in Spanish from the start. And for many of my clients, that can make all the difference.

What Makes Tuyo Health Stand Out

Tuyo Health isn’t just translating their website and calling it a day. They’ve built something that feels intentional.

  • The entire sign-up process, from quiz to consultation, is available in Spanish
  • Their care team includes native Spanish speakers
  • All communication—emails, texts, updates—can be done in Spanish
  • Instructions, educational content, and ongoing support are written clearly and respectfully, not auto-translated

This kind of cultural fluency matters. For a lot of people, especially those navigating complex health systems in a second language, that extra level of care builds trust and confidence.

What They Offer

After I tested Tuyo Health's quiz, I found out exactly what they offer and their pricing.

Tuyo Health gives patients access to the same tools you’ll find on the biggest GLP-1 platforms:

  • Compounded GLP-1s (the same active ingredients found in popular brand-name medications)
  • Brand-name GLP-1s like Wegovy® and Zepbound™ (available in both vials and pens)
  • Metformin as a supplemental option
  • Monthly check-ins with their care team
  • Diagnostic testing and labs for those who want deeper support

Everything is handled online, and once you’re approved, your meds are shipped in just a few business days.

Pricing

pricing for tuyo health spanish-speaking GLP-1

Why This Matters

According to CDC data, Hispanic adults in the U.S. are disproportionately affected by obesity and related chronic conditions—but are less likely to access weight loss care. That gap has a lot to do with language, trust, and access.

Tuyo Health is trying to change that. When someone can ask questions, read instructions, and talk to their doctor in their own language, they’re more likely to stick with the program. That’s the first step toward real change.

Who This Is Good For

If you or someone you care about is Spanish-first and has been struggling to find a supportive, medically sound weight loss program, Tuyo is one of the few that checks all the boxes.

It’s especially helpful for:

  • Adults new to GLP-1s who feel overwhelmed by English-first sites
  • Spanish-speaking patients who’ve had a hard time navigating telehealth
  • Family members trying to support a loved one through weight loss

And while the medication may be the spark, it’s the ongoing support (in your own language!) that helps turn results into a lifestyle.

Another Trust Signal – Tuyo Health's Founder Used to Work for Hims

One of the more interesting things I discovered in my research? The founder of Tuyo Health was one of the first 10 employees at Hims, a well-known telehealth company that also offers GLP-1s for weight loss.

To me, this is a major trust signal. It shows the founder already had deep experience in direct-to-consumer healthcare and knew firsthand what works—and what doesn’t—when building a weight loss platform online. That kind of background matters, especially in a space where execution and reliability are everything.

If you’re curious how these two brands compare today, I wrote a detailed Tuyo vs Hims comparison that breaks down pricing, process, and performance.

My Take as a Dietitian

I always tell my clients: no medication replaces healthy habits. But when a program encourages you to stay on track—and does it in a way that makes you feel understood—it’s far more powerful.

Whether you’re just getting started with weight loss or you’ve been stuck for a while, having access to care that speaks your language is a game-changer.

And I think more companies should be following Tuyo’s lead.

Tuyo vs hims – Which To Choose For Weight Loss? https://dtcwellnesshub.com/tuyo-vs-hims/ https://dtcwellnesshub.com/tuyo-vs-hims/#respond Wed, 07 May 2025 09:48:21 +0000 https://dtcwellnesshub.com/?p=17703 Tuyo Health and Hims are two very different paths to weight loss. I tested both to help my clients decide which offers better value, faster service, and real results. If you're thinking about compounded meds vs name-brand Wegovy®, here's what you should know first.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve had more and more people ask me about Hims’ new weight loss offering—and how it compares to lesser-known providers like Tuyo Health.

As a dietitian who coaches both men and women through strength training, high-protein eating, and weight loss, I know how important it is to choose the right program—especially if you’re considering adding a GLP-1 medication to the mix.

For the record, I always recommend to start your weight loss journey with the following three steps:

  1. Start strength training – this helps build muscle and burn fat. For women, take a look at our top strength training apps.
  2. Eat a high protein, balanced macros diet – this ensures you are getting the necessary foods to fuel your body.
  3. Cut alcohol, sweets and treats from your diet – This is the hardest task to complete, but once you have the discipline to say no to these three weight drivers, you could be able to drop the weight you're looking for.

Note: If you already tried the above three and still not seeing results, a GLP-1 could be helpful. And so many of my clients are turning to these meds, so it's really important I stay on top of everything, including knowing about the brands that provide the GLP-1s.

I already went through the tuyo process, and I know quite a bit about hims, so this should be right up your alley.

What’s Going On With Hims and Novo Nordisk?

Hims recently announced a partnership with Novo Nordisk to offer Wegovy® for weight loss—starting at $599/month. They’re advertising it as a streamlined, accessible way to get one of the most in-demand medications.

I saw a recent advertisement on hims that said, “50% off the original pricing.” Yea, Wegovy® is over $1,000 per month… or it used to be… or it still is… depending how you look at it.

What they fail to tell their customer base is that $599/mo is at the lowest dose. When the dose increases, your price will increase. Customers will find themselves paying well over $1,000 per month soon enough, which is exactly what Novo Nordisk wants. Can you blame them?

But based on my research and what other providers are saying, the supply issue with Wegovy® isn’t really over. Say what???? 🤯

Doctors are still reporting that they’re writing 100 prescriptions and only getting 3 filled. So, while the FDA may have removed Wegovy from the official shortage list, availability is still very limited in practice.

That makes the whole situation a little uncertain—especially if you’re paying $599 a month and then stuck in a waitlist loop.

That being said, they offer some pretty cool extras, like high protein recipes and workouts, but it's unclear if they are additional costs. My advice is to reach out to hims and ask, that way you can get some dialogue going with the brand (see if they respond fast, how their answers are, etc.).

Why Tuyo Might Be a Better Fit for Some People

Tuyo Health offers a broader range of medications, including:

  • Compounded GLP-1 (less expensive and easier to access)
  • Brand-name Wegovy® and Zepbound™ (if available)
  • Metformin (for insulin resistance or prediabetes)

But beyond that, the experience with Tuyo stands out:

  • I personally went through the process: quiz, payment, and approval check.
  • I wasn’t approved—but they refunded my payment within 24 hours.
  • Several of my clients have used Tuyo and said their medication shipped within 3 business days.

It’s full-service. That means:

  • Monthly check-ins
  • Optional 1:1 consults
  • Lab testing included
  • Transparent pricing from the start

And if you don’t qualify? You get your money back – that's what happened to me.

Tuyo Health – See if you qualify

More Similarities Between Tuyo and Hims

  • Tuyo was founded by one of the first 10 employees at Hims.
  • Both Tuyo and Hims offer other telemedicine services, such as ED, Hair Loss and more.

A Quick Note About GLP-1 Access

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach here. Some people want a name-brand like Wegovy®, even if it’s more expensive. Others are looking for a faster, more flexible, and cost-effective option—and that’s where compounded meds can really help.

Providers like Tuyo can offer both (for now), but Hims only gives you one route (if it’s in stock).

Both brands are legit – so much so, that I'd put my name on it because I know their services (outside of the meds) won't disappoint.

Hims is a household name and has strong partnerships. But if you’re looking for a more affordable, more complete experience that includes support, labs, and faster access, Tuyo Health might be the smarter move.

And if you're considering a GLP-1 for weight loss, always talk with a qualified medical provider first.

I’ve heard from clients who are doing everything right....taking their meds, eating better, moving more—and still feel stuck. So, I looked into it. Here’s what might be happening, and how to get things moving in the right direction again.

The post Taking a GLP-1, But Not Losing Weight? Here’s What We Found appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

If you're taking a GLP-1 medication and the scale still won’t budge, I want you to know something right up front: you're not alone.

I’ve had several women in my community reach out with this exact concern. They're doing all the “right” things: eating better, moving more, following the plan—but the results aren’t showing up the way they expected. So I wanted to talk about it. Because this doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes it just means there’s more going on under the surface.

Why You Aren't Losing Weight Even Though You're Taking a GLP-1

1. You Might Be Eating Too Little

Sounds strange, right? But it’s more common than you think.

These medications often blunt your appetite so much that you end up eating far fewer calories than your body actually needs to function well. I’ve seen women accidentally eating under 1,000 calories a day. They weren’t trying to starve themselves—they just weren’t hungry.

The result? Low energy. Slower metabolism. And yes, a stalled scale.

Try this: Keep a food log for a few days. You don’t have to track perfectly, but it’ll help you see if you’re way under. Your body still needs fuel, even if your appetite is small.

2. You're Not Eating Enough Protein

Another sneaky pattern I see: the protein disappears.

When your meals are smaller, every bite matters more. And if you’re filling up on just a few crackers or a smoothie, you’re likely missing the one nutrient that helps you feel satisfied and helps your body hold onto muscle.

Try this: Start your meals with protein first. Add a scoop of protein powder to your smoothie. Snack on hard-boiled eggs or Greek yogurt. You don’t need perfection—just consistency.

The thing is, protein is important and you should

3. You’re Walking More, But Not Lifting Weights

Walking is amazing. Keep doing it.

But strength training sends a very different message to your body. It says, “Hey, we need this muscle.” Without it, especially when weight loss meds are involved, your body may lose more than just fat.

Try this: Add 2 beginner-friendly strength sessions a week. Even 15 minutes counts. The Simply Strong app has easy follow-along workouts to help you get started. Check out our recommended strength training apps for women so you can choose one that fits you.

4. You're Letting the Scale Tell the Whole Story

If you’re expecting that number to go down every week, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Some of my clients didn’t lose any weight for the first 3 weeks—but they felt better. Their clothes fit looser. They slept better. Their cravings went away.

That matters.

Try this: Track 3 things besides your weight: energy, strength, and how your clothes feel. Sometimes your body is changing, even when the number doesn’t.

5. You’re Just Plain Burned Out

Let’s be honest: weight loss is emotional.

When you’re working hard, tracking meals, doing workouts, taking meds—all while juggling life, family, and stress—and then nothing changes? That can feel crushing.

I’ve seen this burnout over and over. It doesn’t mean you should give up. It means you might need to zoom out and give yourself some grace.

Try this: Take a mental break from “tracking everything” for a few days. Go for a walk. Eat a high-protein breakfast. Just focus on feeling good.

Final Thoughts

If you’re on a GLP-1 and not losing weight, it doesn’t mean it’s not working. It might mean your body needs more time. Or that a few small changes can make a big difference.

Don’t assume you’re failing.

You’re learning.

And if you want support that fits you, start with high-protein meals, simple strength training, and a flexible mindset. The rest will follow.

Need help getting started? The FHM+ app was built exactly for this. It’s where I send all my clients when they need structure without stress.

You’ve got this.
