I recently wrapped up a 90-day experiment taking URO Vaginal Probiotics from Opositiv and I’m eager to share what my experience has been like, as it’s quite storied.

To say that vaginal odor is an embarrassing problem would be an understatement, but unfortunately, I think many women deal with it either frequently or from time to time. It’s only been over the course of the last few years that there have been any products to hit the market that address this problem directly.

While the topic of vaginal odor might still feel taboo, I’m hoping that my experience of using URO Vaginal Probiotics for the last 3 months will help you determine if trying URO might be a good match for you.

I’ll answer all the juicy questions you probably have but don’t want to ask IRL. I’ll even open up about why I decided to seek a vaginal probiotic in the first place. Did URO work for me? Let’s find out!

My 90-Day Experience With URO

Over the course of the last 90 days, I took URO religiously every day as directed by the bottle. At this point, I feel as though I have enough data and evidence to support sharing my experience with you.

Why I Tried It

I tried URO because I was experiencing a sudden increase in vaginal odor that seemed to come out of nowhere. I hadn’t made any changes to my diet, exercise routine, or anything else I could think of, but I was noticing a stronger-than-usual odor down there more frequently than ever before. The odor wasn’t bad per se, but I was extremely uncomfortable at the thought that someone else might detect it as I seemed to be catching whiffs of it throughout the day.

This discomfort and embarrassment led me to seek a solution. I first tried drinking more water, switching to thicker cotton underwear, a vaginal-specific cleanser, and eliminating a couple of foods that I thought might be the culprit, all to no avail.

Finally, I did a little internet research and discovered that the odor could be due to a pH imbalance and that a vaginal-specific probiotic might help.

How I Found It

Once I became aware that vaginal probiotics were a thing, I started looking for one. I discovered URO almost immediately (Opositiv must have good marketing because they positioned it front and center when I searched). I was already familiar with the brand as I have tried FLO PMS gummies in the past and I had a good experience, so it made sense to me to try a probiotic from a brand that I already know and trust.

How I Felt Week-by-week

Knowing that this experience would make a great piece of content to share with other women, I kept tedious notes throughout the 90 days that I took URO. Below is my week-by-week breakdown of how I felt while taking it. Some weeks were more eventful than others!

Week 1:

I started my URO journey with high hopes of getting rid of my vaginal odor. The first week was uneventful; I took two URO capsules every night before bedtime. No noticeable changes yet occurred within the first week except maybe an increase in discharge, but I was excited to see what the coming weeks would bring as I knew my body would need some time to adjust.

Week 2:

As I entered the second week, I began to notice a subtle improvement in my vaginal odor, or at least I think I did. It wasn't a dramatic change, but it was enough to keep me motivated and continuing to take URO.

Week 3:

Week 3 brought more encouraging signs. The reduction in vaginal odor was becoming more apparent, and I started feeling more confident. I also noted an uptick in vaginal discharge. It was not an odorous discharge, it was clear/white and was unscented, so I was fine with it. In my mind, my body was creating more healthy discharge to battle whatever was causing the bad stuff, but I have no idea if that’s a thing or not. It was comforting to see the product working slowly but steadily.

Week 4:

By the end of the fourth week, I was experiencing a significant decrease in vaginal odor. I was noticing less and less frequently a smell from down there. I felt more comfortable and less self-conscious. I finally felt like things were turning around for me.

Week 5:

Week 5 came with steady progress. I had become accustomed to taking two URO capsules each night, and I could feel my vaginal pH becoming more balanced. It was somehow feeling just “cleaner” down there, which gave me a ton of relief.

Week 6:

As I entered the sixth week, my vaginal health felt significantly improved. The odor was barely noticeable. I was grateful for the continued benefits of URO.

Week 7:

By week 7, I started noticing improvements beyond my vaginal health. My digestive system seemed to be getting better. I was becoming really regular in the bathroom.  URO appeared to be making a positive impact on more than just my vaginal microbiome, which was awesome to see! I did experience a little diarrhea this week, too, but nothing crazy and could have been unrelated.

Week 8:

Nothing new report here, I was enjoying less and less odor and more confidence.

Week 9:

OK, I’m not totally sure if this is related, but everyone in my house got sick this week with a nasty cold except for me. It’s possible that my consistent intake of probiotics was helping to boost my immune system!

Week 10:

By week 10, I was feeling nearly odor-free, like my old self again. I was so happy I could cry. In fact, I might!

Week 11:

Steady, consistent usage has me feeling good! This is the week of my period, in which my odor usually changes anyway, but this month, no change!

Week 12:

As I completed my third bottle of URO, I reflected on the positive changes I had experienced. My vaginal odor has improved significantly, and I felt more confident and comfortable in my skin, halleluja!

Did My Vaginal Odor Improve Over the 90 Days?

Yes, I noticed a slight improvement within a week of consistent use. By week 4 I felt significantly better about my vaginal odor, and by week 12 my odor was right back to normal.

Did I Experience Any Other Side Effects?

Yes, I definitely noticed some increased vaginal discharge during certain times throughout the course of the 3 months. I also noticed some digestive symptoms, both good and bad. I did have some diarrhea but it evened out and I ended up with a much more regular bowel movement daily.

Would I Purchase It Again?

Yes, I would if I were struggling with vaginal odor or any kind of vaginal discomfort. For me, this product worked.

Pricing Breakdown

Single Purchase Price: $31.99

  • Coffee Comparison: This is equivalent to about 10-12 cups of coffee from a typical chain, which might last a coffee lover about one to two weeks.
  • Lunch Comparison: It's roughly the cost of three to four lunches at a mid-range restaurant, an expense that would cover a work week's worth of midday meals.
  • Streaming Services: The price is comparable to one month's subscription to a premium streaming service or a combination of basic plans from two different providers.
  • Public Transit: In some cities, $31.99 can cover a week's worth of public transportation passes.

Monthly Subscription: $26.99

  • Gym Membership: The reduced subscription cost is on par with a low to mid-range monthly gym membership fee.
  • Mobile Plan: It's also similar to an average monthly cost for a basic mobile phone data plan.
  • Magazine Subscriptions: You could purchase a few months' worth of your favorite magazine subscriptions for the price of a month's supply of URO.

Daily Cost on Subscription: ~$0.90

  • Snack Comparison: This daily expense is less than the cost of a vending machine snack or bottled water purchased at a convenience store.
  • App Purchases: It's equivalent to a few app or song purchases from online stores.

The cost-effectiveness of Opositiv URO becomes more apparent when considering the potential benefits against the price of everyday items. For someone who values health and wellness, investing in a product that supports vaginal health could be seen as a reasonable allocation of their daily expenditure, equivalent to minor daily indulgences.

Other Vaginal Probiotics I Considered Taking

I really only researched one other vaginal probiotic, Clairvee by Bonafide. This product was highly rated and made by a very reputable women’s health brand, however, the price tag deterred me from trying it. That being said, if URO didn’t work for me, this would have been my next selection.

Is URO Worth It?

URO is a worthwhile investment for women who are dealing with the uncomfortable, embarrassing problem of vaginal odor and who would like to try a safe, natural solution. I know that there are plenty of douches, perfumes, and washes out there to quell odor, but in my case, I knew the odor was not the result of hygiene, it was an imbalance of my microbiome that caused it. How the imbalance occurred, I have no idea, but URO got me back on track and feeling like myself again.

This product might work for you if you are experiencing something similar. I also think that I would have enjoyed having this product around during my postpartum periods as I remember feeling like things were off down there for a while post-birth.

All-in-all, if you have the symptoms and you think it makes sense that a probiotic would help, this one from URO is probably a solid option! Of course, talk with your doctor, but I hope that my experience with URO has helped you. If nothing more, I hope that this article helped you realize that you’re not alone in your struggles. Best of luck!

Don’t suffer from vaginal issues such as irritation, burning, dryness, yeast infections and pain during sexual intercourse. These symptoms can be caused by a number of factors, such as hormone fluctuations and a lack of a diverse vaginal microbiome. Rather than turning to strong chemical-based prescription treatments that often make the problem worse, consider a natural alternative.

I want to introduce you to two vaginal probiotics that can help boost beneficial bacteria and keep the bad stuff at bay. Let’s look at URO versus Clairvee. I’ve tried both and wanted to let you know which one worked better for me, as well as all the details you need to know.

Key Takeaways Before Buying Clairvee or URO

Most popular

Clairvee

  • Clairvee is a supplement that is taken once per day for 15 days at a time.
  • Designed to reduce odor, itching and discharge, Clairvee helps rebalance your vaginal microbiome.
  • There are also 5 billion CFUs in Clairvee, from two different strains of probiotics. Also included are lactoferrin and folate.

URO

  • URO is designed to address odor and pH, so you experience better vaginal health overall.
  • There are 5 billion CFUs in URO, from four different strains of probiotics.
  • In addition to better vaginal health, you may see a difference in your gut health as well. This is an oral supplement, so it has to travel through your GI tract.

All About Clairvee

Clairvee is an oral supplement sold by the brand Bonafide. It’s designed to support vaginal health. By addressing disruptions in the vaginal microbiome, Clairvee has the potential to reduce symptoms such as itching, odor, discharge and discomfort. It contains 5 billion CFUs of probiotics, which are beneficial for women in perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

It is directed that you take Clairvee for 15 days each month (consecutively). It can take a full month to see results. You’ll likely want to repeat the process each month in order to maintain a healthier vaginal microbiome.

More on Clairvee:

My Experience

vaginal probiotic bonafide clairvee

I started using Clairvee during perimenopause. It was early on in this experience that I started to notice a change in vaginal health. I wanted to be proactive, but also wanted to avoid and kind of harsh products that would end up causing more irritation. I came across Clairvee in my search for something safe and effective.

What Worked

Clairvee definitely addressed issues I was having with frequent yeast infections. I couldn’t really figure out any other changes that I had made to my diet or lifestyle that would be contributing to this problem. I was growing tired of using over-the-counter products to find relief, and Clairvee helped to naturally fight back against this fungal overgrowth.

What Didn’t

I didn’t notice a big shift in vaginal lubrication when using Clairvee, but maybe that’s something that happens after a few months of using the product for 15 days out of each month.

All About Opositiv URO

When the pH of your vagina is off, many women experience an odd odor and even itchiness. Opositiv URO is a probiotic supplement that can boost healthy vaginal bacteria to rebalance your pH level. The different probiotic strains chosen by Opositiv have the potential to target inflammation, promote balance, decrease bad bacteria and even regulate your gut health. There is also a prebiotic in this product, which can help feed beneficial bacteria.

My Experience

vaginal probiotic URO

These pretty pink capsules really pack a punch. I chose this product to try because it accomplishes a lot of things. It balances your pH, which in turn will balance yeast, reduce odor and boost vaginal flora. I didn’t want to target specific symptoms but rather address vaginal health as a whole.

I started taking URO daily. I didn’t notice much of a difference initially. I would say it took two weeks to notice a shift in my vaginal health. After one full cycle, I noticed slightly less irritation, healthier lubrication, no odor and no signs of a yeast infection. Opositiv advertises that you should see full results in about eight weeks.

What Worked

URO definitely addressed issues with not feeling fresh or comfortable throughout the day. After about one month, there wasn’t really any irritation or odor to deal with. I even noticed a shift in my gut health, which is an added bonus of taking an oral probiotic supplement, regardless of what it’s intended for. Digestive benefits included better regularity and less bloating, especially during PMS.

What Didn’t

While I found that URO provided a number of internal benefits, it didn’t really impact any kind of external irritation or itching that’s present. That’s my experience, anyway. There are other brands that sell topical products that can be used on an external basis, but I would just be careful to make sure that they’re compatible with what you’re taking orally.

Comparing URO vs. Clairvee

Comparing Formulas

Both URO and Clairvee are based on the benefits of using probiotics for vaginal health. These are oral supplements, but the probiotic strains used for each formula are different.

URO is made using four different probiotic strains, with 5 billion CFUs in each dose. Probiotic strains include:

  • Lactobacillus Reuteri
  • Lactobacillus Fermentum
  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus
  • Lactobacillus Rhamnosus
  • There are also XOS prebiotics in URO, which act as food for the healthy bacteria that you’re introducing into your body.

Clairvee is made using 5 billion CFUs of beneficial bacteria in each dose. This includes the following strains:

  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus
  • Lactobacillus Rhamnosus
  • Also added are folate and lactoferrin, which is a protein found in human milk. It has antibacterial and antiviral components.

Comparing Price

You can purchase URO for $31.99 per bottle for a one-time selection. You can also subscribe, which drops the price down to $26.99 and includes free shipping. This is a slightly more affordable option.

The price of Clairvee is $55 for a single box and a one-time purchase. The three-month plan drops the cost significantly, to $35 per month.

Comparing My Results

I wasn’t sure that my experience with these two products was going to be very different. However, I did notice some differences between the two.

I felt fresher and more comfortable overall when I was using URO. It did take a number of weeks to see its full potential, but the investment of time was worth it.

I noticed that Clairvee had its benefits and was effective, but those two weeks of not taking the product kind of made me slip back into how I was feeling before I started taking it.

While these products are designed to help balance your vaginal flora and pH, the probiotics that you’re consuming are also great for gut health and digestion. I noticed more benefits in this regard when taking URO. I attribute this to the fact that it contains more strains of probiotics as well as a prebiotic.

Main Differences Between Clairvee and URO

The main difference that I noticed between Clairvee and URO is that URO has a more diverse probiotic profile. It also incorporates prebiotics into its ingredient list. While Clairvee has two similar probiotic strains, it has left out the other two in lieu of adding folate and lactoferrin.

Otherwise, the CFU count is similar, the benefits are similar, and the administration of these supplements is the same (orally). However, Clairvee allows you to take a break after 15 days.

Which Vaginal Probiotic Is Better: URO or Clairvee?

I personally liked URO from Opositiv better. I saw better results over a longer period of time, which is ultimately what I was looking for. Plus, the more diverse profile of probiotics has benefited my gut health. That’s not something I was looking for from a vaginal probiotic, but it was nice to experience.

My Recommendations

If you’re thinking about using a vaginal probiotic, then I applaud you! Not enough women take vaginal and hormonal health into their own hands. For some reason, we women feel like we have to suffer through our symptoms.

If you’re interested in an oral vaginal probiotic supplement, take a good look at both URO and Clairvee. They’re both excellent products. I would suggest Clairvee if you are intrigued by the folate and lactoferrin that’s included and want to minimize the number of probiotic strains you’re exposed to. Otherwise, URO is a great option if you want to utilize four different strains of probiotics with the help of prebiotics to feed your vaginal flora.

Choose Clairvee If…

  • You’re interested in the two main probiotic types that are in this product, along with the added folate and lactoferrin.
  • You have used the Bonafide brand before and like their products.
  • You would like a product that’s used 15 days on, 15 days off.

Choose URO If…

  • You would like a formula with more probiotic strains.
  • Prebiotic fiber is something you would like included in your vaginal probiotic.
  • Odor and pH are your concerns.

Pesky vaginal symptoms like itching, irritation and odor can quickly be addressed naturally and safely using a vaginal probiotic like Happy V or URO from Opositiv. I tried both of these products so that you don’t have to. Let’s talk about what I thought of them and which one I like the best.

Key Takeaways Before Buying Happy V or URO

Most popular

URO

  • URO addresses the pH of your vagina so that you experience less odor and irritation.
  • Five billion CFUs are in each dose of URO, which come from four strains of probiotics. Prebiotics have also been added to feed beneficial bacteria.
  • While URO can benefit your vaginal health, it can have a profound impact on your gut health as well. If you’re dealing with vaginal issues because of perimenopause or menopause, there’s a good chance GI issues are plaguing you as well.

31.99

Happy V

  • Happy V addresses odor, irritation and discharge, but also recurring yeast infections.
  • Happy V is a combination of probiotics and prebiotics.
  • Some benefits of Happy V took six months to be fully noticed.

$

38.99

All About Happy V

Happy V Prebiotic + Probiotic is designed to balance vaginal pH in order to decrease symptoms associated with bacterial vaginosis and recurring yeast infections. This includes itching, bad odor and even bloating in your GI tract. Impressively, there are seven different strands of probiotics in this supplement. It’s a really affordable supplement, especially if you sign up for recurring deliveries.

My Experience

happy v vaginal probiotics

A friend of mine who is a little older than me recommended Happy V to me. She swore that this product helped her get through menopause, as she had a lot of vaginal changes that were making her feel uncomfortable and unwell. I was happy to try Happy V and immediately placed an order. The product initially comes in a plastic bottle, but you will receive refill packets moving forward to reduce waste.

Two capsules of Happy V should be taken daily. I noticed a slight shift in my gut comfort the first week or two that I was taking this supplement. A few more trips to the bathroom (nothing uncomfortable) were necessary. However, I quickly adjusted. I didn’t notice any vaginal changes until about four weeks into starting Happy V. By that point, the odor was gone, as was any itch I would occasionally deal with.

What Worked

I felt like the most prevalent benefit that I got from Happy V was the reduction of odor that occurred. It was actually pretty quick that this happened, compared to other vaginal-health products that I’ve tried. Comfort improved as well, but that seemed to take a little longer.

What Didn’t

For whatever reason, I didn’t see much of a long-term change in my gut health when using Happy V. I had that initial adjustment period, but after that, I was still experiencing occasional bloating and discomfort.

All About Opositiv URO

Opositiv URO also addresses vaginal pH, using probiotics to reduce odor and itch. By boosting beneficial bacteria, URO reduces inflammation, rids the body of bad bacteria and balances vaginal health. You may find that this product also helps support your gut health. There are four different strains of probiotics in URO, plus a prebiotic.

My Experience

uro vaginal probiotic

I was initially very impressed with URO’s formula. The strains that they’ve chosen to include in their product are common and have been proven to be extremely effective for a number of health benefits. While I’ve taken probiotics in the past, I never really realized that they could be beneficial for vaginal health. I found rather quickly that URO reduced any odor that was present, balanced yeast production to eliminate irritating infections and increased vaginal comfort as a whole.

URO is designed to be taken daily throughout the month. The longer you take it, the more benefits you’ll start to notice. I didn’t notice much happening for the first few weeks. By the end of my first full cycle while on URO, the change was pretty profound. Opositiv advertises on their website that you should wait eight weeks to see how URO will help your vaginal health.

What Worked

URO provided me with a level of freshness that I hadn’t experienced in a very long time. One month after starting this supplement, I noticed that I felt fresher and more comfortable. Not to mention, my gut health seemed to improve as well. I am usually very prone to random bloating, regardless of the point that I’m at in my cycle. I didn’t start taking URO because of gut health issues, but it sure was nice to see these changes occur.

What Didn’t

Unfortunately, URO didn’t provide me with much relief from an external standpoint. It’s targeting your vaginal health from the inside out, but any irritation you have in that general area outside the body may not see relief. There are plenty of other natural products you can use for that, though.

Comparing URO vs. Happy V Prebiotic + Probiotic

Comparing Formulas

Both URO from Opositiv and Happy V are based on a prebiotic and probiotic formula. However, the number of strains that are used and the types of strains are different.

For example, URO features five billion CFUs of:

  • Lactobacillus Reuteri
  • Lactobacillus Fermentum
  • Lactobacillus Acidophilus
  • Lactobacillus Rhamnosus
  • There are also XOS prebiotics included in each dose.

Happy V contains more strains of probiotics (20 billion CFUs total), which include:

  • Lactobacillus acidophilus
  • Bifidobacterium lactis
  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus
  • Lactobacillus crispatus
  • Lactobacillus gasseri
  • Lactobacillus reuteri
  • Bacillus subtilis
  • And the prebiotic PreforPro is included in each dose.

Comparing Price

The price of Happy V is very affordable, priced at $38.99 for a one-time purchase. The cost of a monthly auto ship is $35.09.

You can purchase URO from Opositiv for $31.99 for a one-time purchase. A subscription costs $26.99 per month.

The price points for these two products are relatively similar. However, you get a lot more CFUs in each dose when you are taking Happy V.

Comparing My Results

The concept of these two products is similar. You’re introducing probiotics and prebiotics into your digestive system with the hopes of balancing your vaginal health and pH. They worked somewhat similarly for me. However, I did notice a bigger effect on my gut health when I was taking Happy V. That’s probably because of the larger quantity of CFUs in each dose and more strains of probiotics.

Main Differences Between Happy V and URO

You get a lot more CFUs of probiotics in each dose of Happy V. Twenty billion CFUs is an impressive amount, with the strains used being scientifically proven to help balance vaginal pH. Some of the same strains are found in URO, but there are fewer. For some women, a lower CFU count might be beneficial if they are prone to digestive upset from probiotic and prebiotic use.

Which Vaginal Probiotic Is Better: URO or Happy V?

Both URO and Happy V are excellent products that can really help transform how comfortable you feel. I’ve noticed a dramatic decrease in the number of yeast infections I experience since using a vaginal probiotic. Odors and discomfort are gone for good!

If you feel like you can tolerate the higher probiotic count, I recommend using Happy V. URO is an excellent option as well and should be considered if you’re looking for a lower-dose vaginal probiotic that can help reduce odor and balance pH.

My Recommendations

You may want to speak with a trusted medical professional before starting a vaginal probiotic, especially if you’re using other products that could interact with URO or Happy V.

If you’re curious about a product of this type and want to start out slowly, purchase URO to see how it works for your symptoms. You can always upgrade to Happy V later on if you feel like you need something stronger that will cover more of your symptoms.

popular

Choose URO if...

  • You want to start with a lower CFU count.
  • You’ve used other Opositiv products with success.
  • You want to sign up for the Opositiv subscription service and utilize free shipping.
  • Vaginal odor and pH are concerns of yours.

Choose Happy V if…

  • You want more probiotics and prebiotics in each dose.
  • You’re looking to reduce odor, itchiness, bloating and more.
  • Clinically-proven ingredients are important to you.
  • You are avoiding one or more major allergens (this product is allergen-free).

Other Omega 3 Supplements to Consider

There are a lot of Omega 3 supplements available. Here are some of my other top choices:

1st Phorm Full Mega

1st Phorm’s Full Mega contains 2500mg of Omega 3 concentrate with EPA and DHA from cold water fish (mackerel, herring, anchovies and sardines). Sustainable fishing methods are used to obtain fish for this supplement, along with green technology, for a potent and pure supplement. This “brain food” supplement can provide anti-inflammatory benefits as well as support the heart and brain.

Fatty15

This award-winning fatty acid supplement is scientifically formulated and contains a C15:0 powder called FA15. The brand advertises that their product provides three times the number of benefits that you would get from an Omega 3 supplement alone. Fatty15 provides cellular benefits such as stronger cells and faster cell repair.

My Ritual Omega 3 Review and Experience

holding ritual omega-3

After looking at a few different Omega 3 supplements and doing my research on this powerful nutrient, I chose to purchase Ritual Omega 3. I’ve used Ritual’s supplements in the past and really like the quality that this company stands by. The 2:1 ratio of DHA to EPA is important, because studies have shown that this ratio can lead to better results. I also like that they naturally essence their supplement, so it doesn’t have any aftertaste or funky burp taste.

I started taking my Omega 3 supplement with my lunch. It’s recommended that this type of product be taken with a large meal that contains dietary fat. I usually have a big salad for lunch with dressing and avocado, so I figured this was the perfect time. I didn’t notice that it upset my stomach or anything. I didn’t experience any kind of reflux or burps from it, which can be common with fish oil supplements.

It can take weeks to months to see benefits from taking Omega 3. It starts to build up quickly, though, and I feel like I experienced some anti-inflammatory benefits within the first couple of weeks. Inflammation after working out was becoming a problem for me, and this was the perfect solution.

Purchasing From Ritual

Ritual is a very high-quality supplement brand that goes to great lengths when formulating their products. They’re free of fillers and artificial ingredients that you don’t want in something you’re taking daily. Also, they use third-party testing to ensure that there isn’t any contamination from microbes or heavy metals. All of their ingredients are ethically sourced.

When Did I Take Ritual Omega 3?

I started taking Ritual Omega 3 last year after I spoke with my doctor about its potential benefits. I took it during lunch for the most part but would sometimes take it with dinner if I had forgotten about it. You’re supposed to take it with a large meal.

What Type of Benefits Did I Notice?

Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits are two of the most common results that come with the ongoing use of Omega 3. I noticed a significant change in my inflammation level throughout my body. Because of hormones, I was experiencing quite a bit of inflammation after working out. I had no interest in switching my routine or becoming more sedentary, so Omega 3 was a great way to reduce that inflammation naturally.

Would I Recommend It to a Friend?

I have recommended Ritual Omega 3 as well as this brand’s other supplements to a number of my friends. It’s such a gentle supplement that everyone can benefit from. It’s estimated that more than 68 percent of adults are deficient in Omega 3 due to not consuming enough fish in their diet. There are generally no side effects experienced when taking Omega 3, so I recommend everyone try it out (unless you have an allergy that impacts your ability to take a fish oil supplement).

What Is Ritual Omega 3?

Ritual Omega 3 provides 500mg of vegan-based Omega 3 in each serving. With a 2:1 ratio of DHA to EPA, this supplement is potent and provides excellent results. It has a mild citrus flavor that eliminates a funky taste or aftertaste. This product is made from microalgae, so it’s very natural and vegan-friendly. It’s also very bioavailable, enhancing its absorption rate.

What I like about Ritual is the transparency that they bring to the table. Their website is very informative. For example, their Omega 3 supplement description features information on what ingredients are in this product, where they are sourced, who the supplier is and so much more. This isn’t a brand that’s hiding anything from its clientele, and I appreciate that.

What Are All the Ingredients?

Ritual Omega 3 contains:

  • 500mg of Omega 3 fatty acids
  • This breaks down to 154mg EPA and 308mg DHA.
  • Natural orange oil
  • Mixed tocopherols
  • Silica
  • Vegan capsule design

This may seem like a really simple formula, but that’s how I want my supplements to be. I’m not looking for fillers, artificial flavors, colors, sugar, etc. Ritual provides you with the purest form of Omega 3 that they could come up with, and that’s pretty much it.

Is Ritual Omega-3 Third-Party Tested?

Ritual uses third-party testing for all of their products. The thoroughness of this process is used to ensure that you’re getting a pure and safe supplement with every batch.

Also, Ritual is very diligent about the ingredients that they use for their products. They believe strongly in the traceability of ingredients. Top scientists are part of the Ritual team, and they search the world for the best ingredients they can get their hands on. You can even view the certificate of traceability for every product that Ritual has on their website.

How Much Does It Cost?

Ritual currently charges $33 for one bottle of Omega 3. At the time of writing this review, the price was marked down to $26.40.

You can find this product on other retail sites, including Amazon. However, the price tends to be about the same. I save myself the trouble of having to shop around, and I buy directly from Ritual whenever I need to refill my supplements.

Ritual occasionally runs some deals on bundles or purchases, but there isn’t currently a subscription service or discount available like many other brands offer.

Final Thoughts

I think Omega 3 is a supplement that so many people don’t know much about. However, it’s a product that I think almost everyone should be incorporating into their routine. There are so many benefits that come from Omega 3. Unfortunately, we’re typically not getting enough from diet alone. Even with an occasional serving of fish a few times per week, deficiency is very common.

It’s been quite awhile since I first started taking Omega 3 on a nearly daily basis. I’ve seen improvement with my yearly blood work numbers in addition to a shift in how I feel as well. I’ve even tried other brands of Omega 3, and I always come back to Ritual’s version. I encourage you to take a look at this product on the Ritual website to see what you think.

There is a delicate balance of electrolytes that you need to be attentive to.

Two products that can help replace electrolytes and keep you amply hydrated are Drip Drop and Liquid IV. Which one of these hydration drinks is better? Let’s take a look at the details of each.

All About Liquid I.V.

liquid iv design image

Liquid I.V. has been out for a while. It was originally created in 2012 and has since gained a lot of popularity among athletes, fitness enthusiasts, people with health issues and more. Conveniently packaged in single-serve packets, Liquid I.V. is super simple to take on-the-go with you. You simply open up a packet and add the contents to a bottle of water. The formula contains essential electrolytes as well as B vitamins.

What’s In the Formula?

I like the formula that Liquid I.V. uses because they also include some essential nutrients in their blend. This includes vitamins B3, B5, B6 and B12, along with vitamin C, sodium and potassium. The end result is a beverage that contains just 45 calories, 500 milligrams of sodium and 11 grams of carbohydrates.

Liquid I.V. comes in a variety of flavors, including pear, seaberry, golden cherry, concord grape and acai berry. I also like keeping the unflavored variety around.

What Was My Experience Like?

I’ve used Liquid I.V. for many years to treat my autonomic dysfunction issues. Having dysautonomia makes it very hard for me to stay hydrated and feel my best. I pay close attention to my electrolyte balance and water intake each day. Liquid I.V. has always made it very easy for me to stay hydrated, even on very hot days or days when I’m not feeling well.

The taste of Liquid I.V. is very mild. If I’m really not feeling well, the unflavored variety is perfect for getting fluids into my body without making me feel nauseated. We keep this product around for when my kids get sick. My husband also uses it after hard workouts or a long day outside in the heat.

What I Like

  • This is a great formula of ingredients that includes everything you need.
  • There is a low-sugar option available as well as a sugar-free variety.
  • There’s a large variety of flavors.
  • Liquid I.V. helps me stay hydrated.

What I Don’t Like

  • I wish stevia wasn’t used in all the formulas.
  • Some of the flavors aren’t really to my liking.

Cost and Purchase Options

You can purchase Liquid I.V. on the brand’s website (https://www.liquid-iv.com/), but these products are also widely available in retail stores and other online sites.

The price will vary based on the product that you choose, but as an example, the basic unflavored Hydration Multiplier product costs $24.99 for a pack of 16 packets.

All About Drip Drop

drip drop design image

Containing three times the electrolytes that are in a typical sports drink and half the amount of sugar, Drip Drop is a healthy option for improving your hydration. It comes in a large variety of flavors and is free of artificial preservatives. I like it because it’s free of many of the major allergens. Drip Drop is also vegan and kosher-friendly.

Drop Drop recommends that their product be used for things like exercise, heat exposure, illness, wellness, travel and sleep. I’ve used it in a pinch to ensure I stay hydrated when not feeling well.

What’s in the Formula?

Drip Drop uses a patented ORS formula that is designed to activate your body's sodium-glucose system to improve hydration and electrolyte levels. Included are the basic electrolytes, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium. Also added are vitamin C and zinc. This product can be a good immune boost if you’re not feeling very well.

There are a few different options available from Drip Drop, including a zero-sugar formula. Unfortunately, the brand uses sucralose to sweeten their products. This is much different than the natural ingredients that Liquid I.V. utilizes.

What Was My Experience Like?

I like the formula that Drip Drop uses. I’ve used this product on occasion with good results. The only thing that I don’t like about it is the sucralose. I don’t tolerate artificial sweeteners very well, so that ingredient can do more harm than good in my situation. Some people may not be affected by this. There are some people who require a completely sugar-free option.

What I Like

  • If you need something that contains zero sugar, this is a good product option.
  • There are a lot of flavors available.

What I Don’t Like

  • The price of Drip Drop is a little higher than that of other electrolyte products.
  • I don’t like that they’ve used sucralose as an artificial sweetener.

Cost and Purchase Options

As I mentioned, Drip Drop is a little more expensive than other similar products.

A bag of 32 packets of Drip Drop (available in various flavors) costs $35.99 for a one-time purchase. There is a subscription service available, which saves you 25% on the products you select.

Comparison Section Between Drip Drop and Liquid I.V.

Comparing Formulas

Drip Drop is an electrolyte product that is similar to Liquid I.V., but with some key differences. For example, magnesium is included in Drip Drop. This isn’t in Liquid I.V. Drip Drop uses sucralose as an artificial sweetener instead of the more natural stevia sweetener option that Liquid I.V. contains.

Comparing Taste

I think the tastes of these two product brands are quite different. Drip Drop has a much stronger flavor, regardless of which variety you choose. However, there’s a bit of an aftertaste that you’ll notice. I think that comes from the sucralose, as I’ve experienced that aftertaste with other products that contain that artificial sweetener.

I like the milder taste of Liquid I.V. as well as their unflavored option. Liquid I.V. has a much more natural taste to it. Some of my favorites include acai berry and pear.

Comparing Results

For me personally and what I’m using electrolyte powders for, I’ve found Liquid I.V. to be more effective. It contains the right ingredients to help keep you hydrated. I like its simple formula and natural ingredients. When I’m not feeling well or I want to make sure I’m staying hydrated all day long, I don’t want to be putting a bunch of artificial ingredients into my body. That’s going to do more harm than good.

While Drip Drop can help improve hydration, its formula isn’t something that I really prefer over other options.

What are the Main Differences Between Liquid I.V. vs. Drip Drop?

One of the main differences between Liquid I.V. and Drip Drop is their formulas. As I’ve mentioned previously, Drip Drop contains magnesium, which Liquid I.V. does not. Also, there is an artificial sweetener in Drip Drop.

The flavor choices are a bit different for these two products as well. Liquid I.V. has more natural options like pear, acai berry, concord grape and golden cherry. Drip Drop offers flavors such as bold variety, juicy variety, tropical variety and fruit punch.

Another main difference between Liquid I.V. and Drip Drop is their price points. Liquid I.V. offers some opportunities to save on their products, including the option to pick your own bundle of products at a discounted price. However, Drip Drop does offer a subscription service with a 25% discount.

Final Thoughts

No matter what you’re doing, whether it be working out or spending a day in the hot sun, hydration is incredibly important. When our bodies are not properly hydrated, we can feel fatigued, experience headaches and even deal with nausea. Replacing lost fluids is key, but you want to make sure that you are also supplementing with a healthy balance of electrolytes.

Both Liquid I.V. and Drip Drop can help you replenish your electrolytes so that you’re better hydrated. I personally like Liquid I.V. more because of its ingredient profile, but you can make your own decision.

My Recommendations

I recommend that you try both of these products, if money allows. You’ll be able to see which one helps you feel your best. If you need to try one over the other, I recommend that you start with Liquid I.V. It’s a product that you can find in retail stores and grocery stores, as well as online. It’s a very popular item that many doctors and practitioners recommend for a variety of issues. I know that I always have Liquid I.V. on hand in my own home.

It’s amazing how differently you feel when you increase the amount of water that you drink each day. I recently decided I was going to attempt to increase my water intake to about 80 ounces per day. This is slightly more than I’m used to drinking. In addition to adding in more fluids, I also wanted to make sure I was consuming enough electrolytes. This helps ensure hydration and keeps your cells functioning optimally.

Instead of turning to high-sugar sports drinks, I wanted to use something a bit healthier. I’ve been using Liquid I.V. for a number of years now, so I decided to compare this product to the newly popular Prime.

Let’s see how they compare before deciding what the better option is.

The HOT Takes!

Most popular

Liquid I.V.

  • You can use Liquid I.V. and its smart hydration technology formula to better hydrate your body compared to water alone.
  • Liquid I.V. has both low-sugar and sugar-free options available.
  • Liquid I.V. comes in a variety of flavors that aren’t overly sweet.

Go With Liquid I.V. if…

  • You’re looking for a safer and more natural electrolyte drink.
  • You don’t want to consume large amounts of sugar or artificial flavors.

Prime Hydration Drink

  • Prime is made of 10% coconut water.
  • There are 824 mg of electrolytes in each bottle of Prime.
  • Also added to Prime are B vitamins and antioxidants.

Choose Prime if...

  • You’re jumping on the Logan Paul bandwagon.
  • You want a sweet, Gatorade-like drink option.

What Exactly Is Liquid I.V.?

drinking liquid I.V.

Since coming out in 2012, Liquid I.V. has focused on a clean, simple electrolyte powder that is much healthier than sugary sports drinks. With convenience and health in mind, Liquid I.V. can be taken on the go wherever you are. It’s simple to open up a single serving packet and pour it into a bottle of water. It’s great for active lifestyles and even when you’re not feeling well. It replaces all of those electrolytes that are essential for optimal health, along with added nutrients like B vitamins.

What’s In the Formula?

Liquid I.V. is a bit different from other electrolyte beverages in that it utilizes a mixture of electrolytes (such as sodium and potassium) along with sugar, stevia, vitamin C and the B vitamins B3, B5, B6 and B12. Each packet of Liquid I.V. should be added to about 16 ounces of water to result in a beverage that contains 45 calories, 500 milligrams of sodium and 11 grams of carbohydrates. Liquid I.V. offers a number of different flavor options, and you may find that the nutritional information varies a bit from one to the next.

My Experience: How Did I Like Liquid I.V.?

I personally love Liquid I.V. for a number of reasons. It’s a product that I’ve kept around for many years after my doctor diagnosed me with dysautonomia. I was told that staying hydrated and keeping my electrolytes balanced are incredibly important. It’s something I pay close attention to on a daily basis. When I’ve been busy, I’ve overexerted myself or I’m feeling under the weather, it’s even more important for me to make hydration a priority.

I started out years ago drinking some of the more old-school sports drinks. I wasn’t aware of different products that contained less sugar and fewer artificial ingredients. I was thrilled to come upon Liquid I.V. It honestly includes everything that I’m looking for, including B vitamins for a boost of energy.

I have a few different favorite versions of Liquid I.V. Their standard hydration multiplier is something I always have in the house. We all share that bag, including my kids when they’re sick and my husband when he’s been working outside in the heat all day. Otherwise, I like to drink flavors like passion fruit and tropical punch. I’ve tried almost all of the Liquid I.V. flavors, and I can honestly say that none of them are too sweet or unpleasant.

What Exactly Is Prime Hydration Drink?

drinking prime ICE POP

Created by YouTube professionals Logan Paul and KSI, Prime was released in January 2022. It became popular incredibly quickly because of the internet backing that the creators have, but I’m honestly not impressed by it. It contains a lot of artificial ingredients. I know that the kids love it, but Liquid I.V. is by far the healthier choice for hydration.

What’s In the Formula?

Prime contains ingredients such as coconut water, magnesium, potassium and vitamins A and E. Unfortunately, Prime also contains non-organic natural flavors and sucralose as its sweetener. There is also Prime Energy which contains caffeine.

My Experience: How Did I Like Prime?

When I first took a sip of Prime, I noticed that it was very sweet. Because of the sucralose, there was an aftertaste that I wasn’t a fan of. Also, the coconut water tastes a bit odd mixed with the “natural flavors” that are in the formula. I get why kids like it. It’s similar to Gatorade, but has a trendy marketing concept behind it. However, if I’m looking for a product that I actually trust to help me stay hydrated, I’m going to choose something like Liquid I.V.

I tend to stay away from energy-type drinks that have loads of caffeine added to them, so I haven’t tried Prime Energy.

Comparison Section Between Prime vs. Liquid I.V.

Are you still wondering how the two of these drinks compare? Let’s take a look at Prime versus Liquid I.V.

Comparing Formulas

Both Prime and Liquid I.V. are hydration drinks that contain electrolytes. Liquid I.V. provides electrolytes by simply adding them into the formula. Prime also has added electrolytes, but their formula also contains coconut water. Coconut water naturally has electrolytes in it.

Liquid I.V. has added B vitamins, while Prime does not.

I like that Liquid I.V. has used stevia as a more natural way to sweeten their product, whereas Prime uses sucralose. This isn’t a very healthy option, as sucralose can cause all kinds of GI issues, headaches, etc.

Liquid I.V. has over double the number of carbohydrates that Prime has. Also, Liquid I.V. has 50 calories per serving. Prime has about 25 calories per serving.

Comparing Taste

The taste of these two products doesn’t really compare to one another, and aside from what’s in the formulas, this is what stands out the most in my opinion. I like that Liquid I.V. has a very subtle and natural flavor, regardless of which flavor option you choose. Prime is very sweet with an odd aftertaste.

I like the different flavors that are available from Liquid I.V. I recommend that you purchase the variety pack if you want to try a few different options before deciding what your favorite is.

Comparing Results

As I mentioned, Liquid I.V. is a product that I have in my house all the time. I keep it around because I know that it works. I don’t drink it on a daily basis, but I know that if I’m in need of some extra assistance with hydration, Liquid I.V. is going to get the job done. I don’t want to add a bunch of artificial ingredients to my body, thinking that I’m going to thrive and feel my best.

Liquid I.V. is one of those products that you can use day-to-day, but it’s something I consider essential in a medicine cabinet. When someone in our house goes down with a stomach bug or the flu, drinking Liquid I.V. is something that can potentially keep us out of urgent care or the doctor’s office.

Comparing Price

The price of Liquid I.V. varies a little bit based on the quantity of packets you’re buying and the flavor. However, the unflavored Hydration Multiplier bag of 16 packets is currently $24.99. You can build your own bundle, which saves you a few dollars and provides you with different products.

What Are the Main Differences Between Liquid I.V. and Prime?

The ingredients are very different when you compare the labels of Liquid I.V. and Prime. While taste is something that you’ll have to judge for yourself, I think the quality of ingredients that a company chooses to use really reflects how reputable of a company they are. There was a time when artificial sweeteners were popular because there weren’t a lot of natural alternatives out there. Nowadays, we have things like stevia, which can be a much healthier option than sucralose.

Prime stands out as a highly marketed hydration drink that is simply a selling product because of who its creators are. However, that doesn’t mean it’s the best option out there. I will continue to use Liquid I.V. in my own household.

Final Thoughts and Next Steps

Increasing your hydration is always something that you can do to benefit your health and wellbeing. Properly hydrating with a balance of electrolytes can help us feel more energized; it can help with recovery after working out; and it even boosts our mental health. It’s just important that you’re using the right products to obtain optimal hydration.

I recommend that you check out Liquid I.V. There are a lot of different flavors and options to choose from, so it might be wise to choose a variety pack or put together a bundle. Liquid I.V. often runs promotions that help reduce the cost of your purchase, so check out their website for more information.

Since our bodies require water to survive, it’s important that we pay close attention to hydration. We use water for things like digestion, removing waste from the body and even temperature regulation. When we’re low on fluids and electrolytes, this can lead to a whole host of health issues. Some people with conditions such as dysautonomia and POTS can even experience fainting, severe headaches and nausea when dehydrated.

Instead of drinking plain water, there are a number of products that can help replenish electrolytes and improve overall hydration levels. Let’s compare Liquid IV and Gatorade.

Liquid I.V.

$24.99

  • Liquid IV uses smart hydration technology to hydrate better than water on its own.
  • Liquid IV contains an amino acid-allulose blend to improve hydration.
  • There is a sugar-free option available from Liquid IV.

Choose Liquid IV if…

  • You’re looking for a healthy way to improve your hydration.
  • You want a carefully blended mix of electrolytes.
  • You are an active fitness enthusiast.
  • You suffer from a health condition that makes it difficult to stay hydrated and balance your electrolytes.
  • Gatorade is a popular sport-focused hydration drink; however, it contains large amounts of sugar.
  • There is a sugar-free version of Gatorade, but it is made using artificial sweeteners.
  • There are a number of flavors available from Gatorade; however, they tend to be made from artificial flavors or ingredients.

Choose Gatorade if…

  • You are looking for a sweet beverage that has a strong taste.
  • You are sensitive to any of the ingredients in other products, like Liquid IV.

What Is Liquid I.V.?

liquid iv - vs gatorade

Liquid I.V. is a brand that has been making electrolyte powders since 2012. For convenience, their products come in powder form, so you don’t have to store large containers of sports drinks. You can take your individual Liquid IV packets on-the-go with you, ensuring that you stay hydrated wherever you may be. Whether you’re just sweating a lot on a hot day, or you are sick and struggling to stay hydrated, Liquid IV is an excellent product to have on hand at all times.

The Formula

Thanks to the formula that Liquid IV uses, water and nutrients can pass through the bloodstream faster than water can on its own. The original formula for Liquid IV contains a mixture of sugar, stevia, electrolytes (potassium and sodium), vitamin C and B vitamins (B3, B5, B6 and B12). If you have one individual Liquid IV packet, it is mixed into 16 fluid ounces of water. Each serving contains approximately 45 calories, 500 milligrams of sodium and 11 grams of carbs. The exact nutritional facts can vary a bit from one variety to the next.

My Experience

I’ve been familiar with Liquid IV for a number of years. I was diagnosed with a condition called dysautonomia many years ago. This nervous system disorder has a profound impact on a variety of autonomic processes that my body needs to perform each day. It’s incredibly important that I stay hydrated on a regular basis in order to feel my best and avoid symptom flare ups. I also pay close attention to consuming enough electrolytes each day to ensure optimal hydration.

Liquid IV has a number of benefits that make it one of my favorite products. For example, the individual packets are super convenient. It’s not practical for me to carry around multiple bottles of Gatorade or another similar sports drink if I’m going to be out for a bit. I can keep a large quantity of Liquid IV packets in my bag at all times and simply drop one into a bottle of water. A quick shake, and I’m on my way to staying hydrated.

This product has helped me stay hydrated during an illness. I’m prone to feeling very symptomatic if I have a hard workout, during certain points of my menstrual cycle and in times of high stress. I can say that Liquid IV has kept me out of my doctor’s office plenty of times.

Pros

  • Helps you rehydrate faster than water alone.
  • Doesn’t contain a ton of sugar or artificial ingredients
  • Contains nutrients as well as electrolytes.
  • Convenient for on-the-go use

Cons

  • Might not be acceptable if you avoid the consumption of stevia.

Cost and Where to Buy

Liquid IV is available online, through various online retailers and in a number of major retail stores. You can purchase it directly from the Liquid IV website if you would like (https://www.liquid-iv.com/).

The cost varies a bit based on what you’re purchasing and how much. For example, a bag of Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier (one of the major traditional varieties) costs $24.99 for 16 packets. You can also take advantage of building your own bundle of products on the Liquid IV website, which starts at $24.47. Product quantity and price can vary by a few dollars based on flavor and product, but you’ll find it’s around $25 for 14 to 16 packets of Liquid IV.

What Is Gatorade? (We Know That You Know!)

gatorade - vs liquid iv

This sports drink contains the necessary electrolytes and carbohydrates that help you stay hydrated and recover faster. However, it contains a lot of sugar and calories, which isn’t something you’ll find with a product like Liquid IV. Gatorade sells a number of flavored electrolyte drinks. They have also expanded their product line to include sugar-free options (with artificial sweeteners), powdered products, reusable bottles, etc.

The Formula

For the purpose of this article, I’ll mainly talk about the traditional Gatorade formula that you most commonly find on store shelves. This includes a pretty typical electrolyte profile that contains things like calcium, magnesium, phosphate, chloride, sodium and potassium.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot of sugar to contend with when you drink a 20-ounce bottle of Gatorade. This size of drink contains 36 grams of sugar. Your average can of soda contains 39 grams of sugar, to give you some perspective.

My Experience

When I first learned about my nervous system condition, I did a lot of reading on the importance of staying hydrated. Unfortunately, this was very early on, when there weren’t a lot of other electrolyte products to turn to. I started drinking Gatorade, sometimes even watered down, to avoid consuming too much sugar at once.

While Gatorade does its job in regard to helping you stay hydrated, consuming all that sugar really starts to take a toll on one’s health. I like to stay away from refined sugar as it is, so I eventually started to avoid Gatorade all together. I wasn’t interested in any of the sugar-free options, as I don’t like artificial sweeteners. Not to mention, colored Gatorades contain all kinds of artificial colors.

Pros

  • Fast hydration
  • Helps speed up your recovery from physical activity or illness.
  • A lot of different products are available.

Cons

  • Too much sugar (or the use of artificial sweeteners)
  • Artificial colors and flavors
  • High in calories

Cost and Where to Buy

You can purchase Gatorade in most grocery stores and retail stores. It’s relatively affordable, with a pack of 24, 20 fl.-oz. bottles costing around $38, depending on where you’re shopping. You can usually grab single bottles for just a few dollars as well.

Comparison Section Between Gatorade and Liquid I.V.

In my opinion, these two products are very different. Let’s look at a breakdown of how they compare.

liquid iv and gatorade together

Comparing Formulas

Both of these products are intended to provide essential electrolytes (and nutrients) in a single serving. Liquid IV does a much better job of breaking down what’s inside of their product. Gatorade lists the required nutritional information on its label, such as sugar and calories. A single serving provides approximately 230mg of sodium and 70mg of potassium. There’s about 34g of carbohydrates in each serving as well. Those carbs are used to fuel your muscles and enhance the absorption of fluids.

Liquid IV contains approximately:

  • 380mg of potassium
  • 76mg of vitamin C
  • 22mg of niacin
  • 2.28 mg of vitamin B6
  • 6.82 mcg of vitamin B12
  • 11.4 mg of pantothenic acid

This information is based on the traditional Hydration Multiplier formula.

Comparing Taste

As I mentioned, Gatorade contains a heck of a lot of sugar. It’s a very sweet drink. Liquid IV is very clean and crisp. It just slightly enhances the flavor of your water.

Gatorade is available in a number of flavors (artificial), such as cherry glacier, orange, lemon lime, glacier freeze, etc.

Liquid IV offers subtle flavors such as strawberry, strawberry lemonade, seaberry, Concord grape, pina colada, pear and unflavored.

Comparing Results

I personally found the benefits of Liquid IV to be much more noticeable than when I was using Gatorade. There’s a big difference in how you feel when you’re not consuming over 30 grams of sugar from one serving of electrolyte drink. I think Liquid IV is much better in regard to hydration, and the extra nutrients make a big difference in how you feel as well.

What are the Main Differences Between Liquid IV vs. Gatorade?

For starters, the sugar content is very different for these two products. There are only 11 grams of sugar in each serving of Liquid IV. There are also sugar-free options available as well. Gatorade contains about 36 grams of sugar in each serving, which is substantially more. Liquid IV uses Stevia to reduce its sugar content, while Gatorade uses sucralose.

Gatorade

Gatorade has lots of electrolytes, which can help hydrate the body. Also has carbohydrates, which can give athletes the energy they need to compete.

Most say it does not help with hangover relief.

Final Thoughts

Hydration is something everyone should pay close attention to, whether you have a diagnosed medical condition that affects your hydration or not. So many people say they feel better, more energetic and healthier when they increase their fluid intake. Of course, you need to make sure that you’re taking in enough electrolytes in order to retain that fluid and make the most of what you’re taking in. That’s where an electrolyte beverage comes in.

I’ve had great success with Liquid IV, in addition to some other hydration products like Elete Electrolyte Add-In and LMNT.

My Recommendations

I encourage you to consider Liquid IV or a similar electrolyte add-in. Depending on where you live, your water quality may not be very good. Even filtered water or reverse osmosis water can miss many of the minerals and nutrients that you need to stay hydrated. Using an electrolyte add-in with quality water is ideal for everyday use. It doesn’t take long to see a difference in how you feel, either. Try Liquid IV for one day, striving to consume about 3.7 liters of fluid per day if you’re a male or 2.7 liters if you’re a female.

HOT ITEM!

Liquid I.V. is better for…

  • Low sugar electrolyte support
  • Additional nutrients
  • Healthy flavor options
  • Everyday use

Gatorade is better for…

  • People who want regular sugar instead of alternative sweeteners
  • An accessible electrolyte beverage from a gas station or corner store

The post Ritual Natal Choline Review – Key Facts, Pros, Cons and Discount appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>

Nourishing your baby begins many months before their arrival in the world. There are key nutrients that are needed in order for your baby to develop and thrive. During pregnancy, there are a number of supplements and lifestyle choices that you can make in order to help your baby grow properly. One such nutrient is choline. To help brain development, gene expression and tissue formation, choline is recommended at a dose of 450 milligrams per day throughout pregnancy.

Are all choline supplements created equal? Just like any other supplement, there are different qualities and factors to watch out for. In this article, I’m going to introduce you to Ritual Natal Choline. Let’s talk about what’s included in its formulation, what it can do for you and your baby and where you can buy it.

Coupon Code: TAMI20 for 20% off!

Key Facts

  • Designed to support the cognitive development of your baby.
  • Each dose contains 550 mg of choline. Ritual has based their formula on clinical research.
  • Third-party testing is used.
  • Vegan-friendly
  • Choline has been proven to improve the quality of breast milk.
  • Choline sourced from the U.S.A.

Who Should Try Ritual Natal Choline?

  • Women who are pregnant or looking to become pregnant.
  • Women during the postpartum period that are nursing.

What Is Ritual Natal Choline?

ritual natal choline bottle with capsules

Providing nutritional support from mom to baby, Ritual Natal Choline is based on scientific information that has determined ongoing choline supplementation can support the cognitive function of a baby from pregnancy and beyond. Ritual has sourced their choline from Missouri, choosing a very high-potency formula that provides 550 mg of choline in each serving. This is slightly higher than what’s normally recommended, but Ritual has based their dose on clinical studies that suggest larger amounts can be beneficial.

If you continue taking Ritual Natal Choline during the postpartum phase, it can benefit your breast milk. More choline can be found in the milk, which is then passed on to your baby.

How Does Ritual Natal Choline Help Support Your Baby?

Choline is a nutrient that is extremely important during the development of a fetus. From supporting healthy stem cell development to helping with cognitive development, choline is something that should be taken each day throughout pregnancy. It can also prevent a number of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida and anencephaly.

Unfortunately, we don’t usually get enough choline from our diet alone, especially during pregnancy. A lot of women experience food aversions or things that make them sick. This makes it hard to consume enough things like liver, egg yolks, red meat, cod and tilapia. We can produce very small amounts of choline in the liver, but the amount is not high enough to be of any significance to a fetus.

When Should You Take Ritual Natal Choline?

ritual natal choline capsules and bottle

You can take this supplement along with your prenatal vitamin and any other supplement that you may be using during pregnancy. It can be taken with or without food. It doesn’t matter if you take it early in the day or late. Choline doesn’t typically cause any side effects, so you don’t have to worry about it affecting your sleep or anything like that.

What Are the Pros?

  • Citrus enhanced, which is a huge bonus if you’re experiencing ongoing nausea during your pregnancy.
  • Ritual Natal Choline contains a traceable form of choline. You can feel good about what you’re putting into your body and your baby’s body.
  • Supports cognitive function during development and during the early years of your child’s life.
  • Third-party testing checks for identity, purity and composition. Ritual is a reputable brand.

What Are the Cons?

  • The daily dose is two capsules, which might be difficult if you’re experiencing nausea or morning sickness during pregnancy.
  • The dosage amount is higher than the daily recommended value, but it’s still within range of being very safe.

How Much Does Ritual Natal Choline Cost?

Ritual has priced their Natal Choline supplement at $25 per bottle. When I was writing this review, the price was discounted to $15 per bottle. Get an additional 20% off with our coupon code TAMI20. You can find this product by visiting www.ritual.com.

There’s a 30-day money-back guarantee that comes with the purchase of any Ritual product.

Is It Safe to Take Natal Choline While Taking Other Prenatal Supplements?

Yes, you can take your Natal Choline supplement with other products. It is a great compliment to a prenatal vitamin or a vitamin that you’re taking after your baby has been born. You can check with your doctor to confirm that you’re not taking too much choline, combining this product with something else as well.

Is Ritual’s Natal Choline Third Party Tested?

Ritual uses very stringent third-party testing to confirm the quality and safety of all their products. This testing also checks for heavy metals and microbes. It’s always nice to see that a company uses third-party testing for their products, but this is especially true when you’re pregnant and responsible for the life of another being.

What Other Choline Supplements for Pregnancy Are Out There?

There are many different choline supplements that are available for use during pregnancy. Some options include:

Product Name

Nature Made Choline

Containing 300 milligrams per dose, Nature Made Choline comes in gummy form. It’s a nice option if you’re having trouble swallowing pills or capsules during your pregnancy. In addition to helping fetal development, it can also support mom’s nervous system and brain.

Pure Synergy Choline Complex

Made from organic vegetables and sprouts, Pure Synergy Choline Complex is fermented during the manufacturing process. This makes it easy to absorb its ingredients into the body. There are 275 milligrams in each dose, along with an organic whole-food complex of broccoli, barley grass, collard greens, cauliflower sprouts and cabbage.

Needed Prenatal Choline

This is a prenatal-specific choline supplement that is designed to support fetal development as well as a healthy metabolism, ideal blood pressure and a positive mood. Needed Prenatal Choline contains 250 milligrams of choline in each dose.

Hum Nutrition Womb Service

Containing a small amount of choline (82.5 milligrams in each dose), Hum Nutrition Womb Service is a prenatal vitamin that supports healthy growth and development throughout pregnancy. Made from whole food ingredients, this is an excellent-quality supplement.

Final Thoughts

There’s a lot to think about when you’re planning to become pregnant or are already pregnant. No longer are you just responsible for yourself and your own wellbeing. It can be overwhelming to start thinking about all of the things that you’re putting into your body when you’re pregnant. Since your lifestyle and diet directly affect your baby, it’s important that you’re making healthy choices.

Choline is a nutrient that is extremely beneficial during pregnancy and the first year of a child’s life. Doctors recommend supplementing with choline, and Ritual Natal Choline is an excellent option. I love how reputable Ritual is, providing their clients with products that are made from high-quality, trustworthy ingredients. This is just one product that you can use during pregnancy. Revaree vs Replens – Testing Two Vaginal Moisturizers https://dtcwellnesshub.com/replens-vs-revaree/ https://dtcwellnesshub.com/replens-vs-revaree/#respond Mon, 18 Mar 2024 14:32:27 +0000 https://dtcwellnesshub.com/?p=14550 I tested two vaginal moisturizers Revaree and Replens. Menopause vaginal dryness is real for women my age. I needed a solution, here are my thoughts.

The post Revaree vs Replens – Testing Two Vaginal Moisturizers appeared first on DTC Wellness Hub.

]]>
Vaginal dryness is a symptom that not many of us women like to talk about, but it has a profound impact on our health and wellbeing. When we experience vaginal dryness, either all the time or intermittently, this can negatively affect our sex life, cause irritation and disrupt the balance of our vaginal microbiome, which leads to more yeast infections. Some women experience vaginal dryness at various points of their menstrual cycle, but there are other women who have this come on during perimenopause or menopause.

What can we do to replenish vaginal moisture and feel healthy again? Let’s discuss two products that I think you’re going to find interesting: Revaree and Replens. Let’s talk about what’s in them, what you can expect from their use and where you can get them. What are we waiting for? Let’s get started talking about Revaree and Replens vaginal moisturizers!

Key Aspects

  • Revaree is made using the natural ingredient hyaluronic acid. It helps the vaginal tissue retain moisture.
  • Revaree is a bit more expensive compared to Replens, but I like the formula better.
  • There aren’t really any side effects reported for Revaree. It shouldn’t cause any irritation or burning, even at first.
  • Replens only must be applied once every few days and does not come in capsule form.
  • Replens lasts longer because of its unique bioadhesive formula.
  • Replens also addresses moisture-related issues like irritation and pain during intercourse.

Choose Revaree if…

  • You want a product with a more natural formula that doesn’t contain hormones.
  • You want to achieve long-lasting results over a more long-term basis.

Choose Replens if…

  • You don’t want to use a product every day.
  • You’re looking for a product that is fragrance-free and compatible with most condom types.

What Is Revaree?

bonafide revaree inserts

Revaree from the brand Bonafide naturally addresses the dryness and irritation that can come with perimenopause, menopause or just typical fluctuations in a woman’s cycle. Dryness is something that can lead to burning and pain during sexual intercourse, but Revaree uses hyaluronic acid to help the tissue in the vagina retain more moisture naturally. By improving this natural barrier, the vagina will feel better and become more balanced over time.

Revaree is approved by the FDA as a Class II medical device. Having been successfully used by more than one million women across over 40 different countries, this is a product that is very reliable and trustworthy. It’s completely free of hormones, so it can be used with other HRT and over-the-counter products. Your FSA and HSA accounts can be used to purchase Revaree, as long as the criterion of your individual plan allows for it.

Go to Revaree

What's in the Formula?

Bonafide’s Revaree contains five milligrams of hyaluronic acid sodium salt, as well as semi-synthetic glycerides. There’s nothing else to consider or worry about. It doesn’t contain hormones, and there’s nothing artificial or irritating to worry about.

My Experience Using Revaree Vaginal Inserts

What I personally liked about using Revaree is that it’s a vaginal insert that you put into your body right at bedtime. I’ve used other products that were cream-based, and they tend to get messy during the application process and throughout the night. Revaree was a very simple and clean product. They went in easy and stayed in place. I couldn’t detect that anything was there each night that I used one.

The Bonafide brand claims that it can take about 30 days to really see the full results of Revaree. I would say that I saw an improvement well before then, but it was probably about 30 days before I really felt a huge difference. My main issue was overall dryness, but that could occasionally lead to discomfort during sex. These symptoms were gone after the first month.

Cost and Where to Buy

I order Revaree from the Bonafide website, located at https://hellobonafide.com/products/revaree. The price is currently $62 for a single purchase, or you can sign up for a monthly plan, which brings the cost to $47. Don’t forget to see if your FSA or HSA account can be used for this product.

Go to Revaree

What Is Replens?

replens applicator

Replens is a hormone-free vaginal moisturizer that is designed to attach itself to any dry cells that are present in a woman’s vagina. It stays in place using a unique bioadhesive technique, allowing healing, and regeneration of cells to take place. The nice thing about Replens is that it only must be used once every three days. It works quickly, but it can also be used on a more long-term basis to promote healthier vaginal cells.

What's in the Formula?

Replens is made using ingredients such as glycerin, mineral oil, polycarbophil and palm oil glyceride. It’s a less natural formula compared to Revaree, but it doesn’t contain any hormones or overly synthetic ingredients.

My Experience Using Replens Vaginal Moisturizer

Replens was a product I liked because it only had to be used once every few days. Even so, these products are generally supposed to be applied at night, so it’s not a big deal for me either way.

I did experience a bit of irritation when I first started using Replens. I sometimes react to products that contain mineral oil, so that may have been the problem.

I did notice a change in my vaginal hydration after a few uses. I was using it every three days, and by the third day, the effects had worn off. I think a product that is used daily or lasts for a longer period is beneficial if you’re dealing with extreme vaginal dryness.

Cost and Where to Buy

You can purchase Replens online by visiting the websites of Amazon, CVS, Target and Walgreens. It can also be found in stores as well. This includes Kroger, Rite Aid, Safeway and more. The cost may vary a bit depending on where you’re shopping, but it generally retails for about $25.

Go to Replens

Comparison Section of Replens vs Revaree

Though made for the same intent, Replens and Revaree are different in several ways. Let’s see how they compare so you can make the best decision for your health, wellbeing and budget.

Comparing the Vaginal Moisturizer Formulas

Revaree is based on hyaluronic acid, which is very natural and safe for most people. It simply helps retain moisture naturally. There’s nothing irritating or artificial in the formula for Revaree that should cause any kind of burning or problems.

Replens has a slightly less natural formula with a few different ingredients. As mentioned, it contains glycerin, mineral oil and more. This is more of a lubricating product that will add moisture on contact. I personally like the concept of using something like Revaree, which will provide you with more long-term benefits.

Comparing the Prices

The price of Revaree from Bonafide is significantly higher than Replens. However, I’m a big believer in you getting what you pay for. If you’re looking for a product that will provide you with safety, relief, comfort and quality, then it’s worth it to pay a little more for Revaree. Plus, you save quite a bit of money if you choose to subscribe to regular deliveries. This is a product that you can use on a more long-term basis, especially if you progress to a maintenance dose.

Comparing My Results: Which Worked Better for Vaginal Dryness?

I personally liked the effects of Revaree. While it does take longer to work, and it’s not an immediate-relief kind of product, it helps address the issues that you’re having with your body. If your vaginal tissue doesn’t have enough hydration, that’s something that needs to be addressed. The goal shouldn’t be to simply bandage the situation repeatedly. I liked using Revaree and still have it around in my medicine cabinet to this day.

What Are the Main Differences Between Revaree and Replens?

The formulas for these two products are very different from one another. Also, Revaree is used daily, whereas Replens is used only once every few days.

The time frames in which they work vary, but that’s for good reason. It takes time for your vaginal tissue to heal and become better hydrated when using Revaree from Bonafide.

Lastly, the price points are different. As we discussed, you’re paying a little bit more for a better-quality product. That’s always worth the investment, in my opinion.

Final Thoughts

You don’t have to deal with vaginal dryness, irritation or burning. Sex doesn’t have to be uncomfortable. There are plenty of remedies available, including Revaree and Replens. Both are sold through reputable companies that have put a lot of thought and research into the development of their products.

My Recommendations

I recommend that you consider what you’re hoping to achieve with the use of a vaginal moisturizer. If you want to heal on a more long-term basis and reap the benefits of that healing, I recommend that you consider Revaree over Replens. However, Replens offers the convenience of only needing to be used every few days. It can provide faster relief as well.

Choose Revaree if…

  • You are looking for a product that helps heal.
  • You want a mess-free design.
  • You’re looking for a non-hormonal product that contains natural ingredients.
Go to Revaree

Choose Replens if…

  • You don’t want to use a product daily.
  • You don't want to use a vaginal suppository

Perimenopause and menopause symptoms often arrive with little to no warning. One minute, you’re feeling healthy and like yourself. The next day, you’re experiencing extreme hot flashes that leave you wondering if you’re having a heart attack. Upon doing some of my own research, I determined that there are so many different symptoms that women can experience during menopause. Some are more common than others, but they can all come and go during the years of transitioning to menopause.

I wanted to take a proactive approach to my perimenopause and menopause symptoms. After all, it can be many years that I will be experiencing different symptoms based on my hormonal changes. I was recommended Winona HRT by a friend, and I was intrigued by what I discovered. Let’s dive into the details of this company and the types of hormone replacement therapy Winona provides.

How I Found Winona HRT for Menopause

holding winona hrt prescription medication

A friend of mine recommended Winona HRT to me after I was complaining to her about my hot flashes and night sweats. She had tried a couple of Winona’s HRT products with impressive success. Since the process includes meeting with a medical professional who reviews your information, I figured it couldn’t hurt to get started with the process of signing up.

Go to Winona

How I Got Started

The process for getting started with Winona is very simple. You simply answer a short questionnaire, detailing your personal information, any health issues you may be dealing with and your symptoms. This information is then used during your telehealth call with one of the board-certified medical professionals that are part of the Winona team. They will determine if you’re eligible for HRT. If so, you’ll be prescribed a product.

My HRT Prescription Medication

I was prescribed Winona’s Progesterone Cream. This product can take a little bit of time to work, especially since you’re applying it topically. However, I liked the topical option because it has been known to cause fewer side effects. I would say that I started to see a reduction in my menopause symptoms after a couple of weeks of using Winona Progesterone Cream. My nighttime issues didn’t really improve until the end of week three.

Results and Relief From My Menopause Symptoms

The thing I found most interesting about my Winona HRT is that I started to notice a change in how I felt and didn’t realize that some of my issues were likely attributed to my hormones. I guess I didn’t really realize how profound my mood swings and anxiety were until they started to go away. Again, these are things that took a few weeks to really see a difference.

How Much Does Winona Cost?

Winona varies in cost. Their products are priced anywhere from $24 per month to $79 per month. What you pay for this service will depend on what is prescribed to you. If the doctor that you speak with thinks that you would benefit from both estrogen and progesterone, you may be able to use a combination product that saves you both time and money.

Can I Recommend Winona Menopause HRT to My Friends?

I have recommended Winona Menopause HRT to my friends and will continue to do so. I have found that perimenopause and menopause symptoms are something that not many women discuss with one another. I’m always an open book, so I have no problem mentioning to my girlfriends that I’ve been dealing with hormone issues. That’s not a comfort level that everyone is at, though. After I’ve opened up about my own experience, I’ve had a number of friends express that they’ve gone through the same thing. I will immediately tell them about Winona and the other brands that I’ve mentioned in this article. It’s so important for women to know that there are different options out there that can help them feel their best, regardless of their age and what they’re going through hormonally.
