Online brands like Willow and Mochi offer compounded versions of these medications (although I won’t get too deep into the formulation here). What matters most is that you’ll go through an online medical intake, get evaluated by a provider, and—if approved—you’ll receive your medication monthly.

One important thing to keep in mind:

These brands operate in a changing regulatory space. Some providers have been involved in legal actions related to how they prescribe or compound medications. It doesn’t mean they’re not legit—it just means you should stay informed and choose carefully.

Willow: A Polished, Fast-Access Option for Cosmetic Weight Loss

Willow has built its name around offering GLP-1 medications for cosmetic weight loss—meaning, you don’t need a high BMI or underlying health condition to be considered.

As a dietitian who coaches both men and women through strength training, high-protein eating, and weight loss, I know how important it is to choose the right program—especially if you’re considering adding a GLP-1 medication to the mix.

For the record, I always recommend to start your weight loss journey with the following three steps:

1. Start strength training – this helps build muscle and burn fat. For women, take a look at our top strength training apps.
2. Eat a high protein, balanced macros diet – this ensures you are getting the necessary foods to fuel your body.
3. Cut alcohol, sweets and treats from your diet – This is the hardest task to complete, but once you have the discipline to say no to these three weight drivers, you could be able to drop the weight you're looking for.

What’s Going On With Hims and Novo Nordisk?

Hims recently announced a partnership with Novo Nordisk to offer Wegovy® for weight loss—starting at $599/month. They’re advertising it as a streamlined, accessible way to get one of the most in-demand medications.

I saw a recent advertisement on hims that said, “50% off the original pricing.” Yea, Wegovy® is over $1,000 per month… or it used to be… or it still is… depending how you look at it.

What they fail to tell their customer base is that $599/mo is at the lowest dose. When the dose increases, your price will increase. Customers will find themselves paying well over $1,000 per month soon enough, which is exactly what Novo Nordisk wants. Can you blame them?

But based on my research and what other providers are saying, the supply issue with Wegovy® isn’t really over. Say what????

Doctors are still reporting that they’re writing 100 prescriptions and only getting 3 filled. So, while the FDA may have removed Wegovy from the official shortage list, availability is still very limited in practice.

That makes the whole situation a little uncertain—especially if you’re paying $599 a month and then stuck in a waitlist loop.

That being said, they offer some pretty cool extras, like high protein recipes and workouts, but it's unclear if they are additional costs. My advice is to reach out to hims and ask, that way you can get some dialogue going with the brand (see if they respond fast, how their answers are, etc.).

Why Tuyo Might Be a Better Fit for Some People

Tuyo Health offers a broader range of medications, including:

• Compounded GLP-1 (less expensive and easier to access)
• Brand-name Wegovy® and Zepbound (if available)

But beyond that, the experience with Tuyo stands out:

• I personally went through the process: quiz, payment, and approval check.
• I wasn’t approved—but they refunded my payment within 24 hours.

I’ve had several women in my community reach out with this exact concern. They're doing all the “right” things: eating better, moving more, following the plan—but the results aren’t showing up the way they expected. So I wanted to talk about it. Because this doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes it just means there’s more going on under the surface.

Why You Aren't Losing Weight Even Though You're Taking a GLP-1

1. You Might Be Eating Too Little

Sounds strange, right? But it’s more common than you think.

These medications often blunt your appetite so much that you end up eating far fewer calories than your body actually needs to function well. I’ve seen women accidentally eating under 1,000 calories a day. They weren’t trying to starve themselves—they just weren’t hungry.

The result? Low energy. Slower metabolism. And yes, a stalled scale.

Try this: Keep a food log for a few days. You don’t have to track perfectly, but it’ll help you see if you’re way under. Your body still needs fuel, even if your appetite is small.

Hims also offers compounded semaglutide at the moment. For how long? Nobody knows. They advertise it at “starting at $165 per month.” However, that's for a bulk supply, whereas Remedy Meds only offers month-to-month and provides flat-rate pricing, regardless of dose.

Comprehensive Intake = Safer Care

Both brands impressed me with their medical intake forms. They’re not just asking for your weight and BMI—they want to know about current prescriptions, past health conditions, and whether you’re experiencing any symptoms.

For someone new to GLP-1s, this is reassuring. It tells me that these companies actually care about your safety, not just about selling a subscription.

That said, Remedy Meds was a much smoother process and easier to get through the quiz, taking me only a few minutes. Hims, on the other hand, took me about 10 minutes to complete the quiz. They ask pretty ridiculous questions that wasted my time, like “do you identify as a man?” and “what was your sex at birth?” And then, there are marketing questions in there for them to sell you extra meds, which I think is just ridiculous. I found myself countless times just wanting to quit the quiz.
